Im on bedrest. I have been since I was 25 weeks and Im now 32 weeks. Its depressing. I get on the computer, read books or magazines, watch tv...I do also have 3 other kids to take care of too, but my mom came in from out of town to take care of them and the house while my husband is away at work. That is about all there is that I can think of to do, unless you like to do some kind of crafts or something and can have people bring you things to do. It will be a long wait, but of course worth it in the end for a healthy baby. Good Luck to you.

Man bed rest at 20 weeks? you really should ask for medication. I went on bed rest at 37 weeks and I did a lot of reading, puzzles, video games, made a blanket, watched more TV then I ever care to again. Slept (which you can only do so much of but for the 1st 3 days or so it is a blessing), caught up on the news. You could start a scrapbook, continue a scrapbook from early life pictures. There is a lot that you can do especially if you camp out on the couch. Good luck and talk to your OB about meds b/c 20 weeks is VERY early to be stuck on bed rest.

I'm glad someone asked this question!! This will be fun for you: go to a craft store or the craft section at wal-mart and buy some scrapbooking supplies (paper, scissors, stickers, markers, pens, stencils, etc.) and begin making a scrapbook for your little one! You could also get some crocheting or knitting books, yarn, needles, and pattern books and make a baby blanket. There's also needlepoint, counted cross stitck, painting, sketching, reading, and a number of other things. Do you have a laptop or tv in your room? You could set up an online blog about your little one, or watch tv. I would also suggest getting a betta fish to put by your bedside (goldfish have this uncanny ablity to randomly die) to watch. You could even enroll in community college online courses if you want some academic stimulation. Hope that helps!

Oooohhh i've been there girl! Bedrest is awful!! I won't even try to paint it pretty for you. It's so hard to feel like everyone has to do everything for you. I felt like such a burden on my family always needing someone to get me a drink, bring me the remote, and do all my household chores. Of course, NOW i'd give anything for a few days of no demands and just laying around.
If you don't have a laptop you'll want to see if you can borrow one. I would have gone NUTS without mine. Also, stock up on books. One thing about bedrest is that time goes by so much slower and all I ever wanted to do was sleep to make it go faster. Books were one of the only things that could help me fall asleep.
You'll see WAY more movies and tv than you'll ever care to see again in your life too!
Make sure that you have plenty of pillows to help you change positions and stay comfy. You'll also want to do some leg lifts and change positions frequently to avoid blood clots.
Make sure that just because you're in bed that you don't let yourself go either. You should keep a mirror and your beauty products right there by the bed so you can fix up each day. Trust me, it will make you feel so much better!
If you end up on bedrest, you'll find out who really REALLY cares about you. I was let down by a few people who quit coming to visit me over time. However, the ones that call and check on you frequently really mean so much!
It's so weird when you're allowed out of bedrest too. It's like being a kid and seeing things for the first time when you finally just get a chance to get out doors!
At least you'll be far enough along that you'll be able to feel your baby move around. You'll know his/her dailey routines and sleeping patterns very well. He/she will keep you company too.
Good luck and take good care of yourself. I really hope that if you do end up on bed rest that it won't be for very long.
It really will be worth it in the end.

could always knit a coming home sweater and bonet set, an afghan. quilt, get your scrapbook started, write letters to your baby while you're on bed rest and tell him/her what you are doing while on bed rest. Get some of your favorite books that you haven't read in a long time and read them. Same with movies, write some old fashioned letters to some of your friends. Ask your friends to do the same for you, that way you have something to read when the mail comes. Maybe have a game night once a week get a few of your friends to bring their favorite game, come in their jammies and have ice cream and play Life or Clue:)
Hope that helps

There's woman near where I live who came in second on a World Poker Tour tournament recently (won almost 18 grand) and she says she polished her skills online when she was on bedrest while pregnant.
