Pregnancy & Parenting - 28 December 2006

Yesterday I visited the local midwife for a 24 week pregnancy check up. She asked me if I felt the baby kicking and I said no. Then she got very worried and made out as if something was wrong with the baby. She listened to the baby's heartbeat which is fine but she still phoned the hospital and asked if she can arrange for me to go down there. They said there's no concern at this stage. I tried to tell her that I'm a first-time mum and I wouldn't feel baby yet but she didn't listen. She expects me and baby to conform to set rules but we're not. She made me feeling very worried as I left the surgery and was that professional of her? She was also surprised I've got a temperature even though I have a cold atm. I don't feel confident with her and hope she doesn't attend the birth. She's the only midwife in the rural town where I live but I plan to give birth at hospital. Does the midwife seem overreacting to you?

I gave him oral sex (which shouldve got rid of "pre") then we had unprotected sex and he pulled out a few minutes before he even "came"... am I okay or is there a good chance of being pregnant? I'm nervous because I am not on birth cotnrol.

My husband travels alot and he is most of the time out of town. I stay alone with our baby 9months old. when ever he comes back from his trips, he always blame me saying i spoil the baby. the baby only like sertain food not every baby food he eats.
but his dady want him to eat all bby food types.

When ever his is with the baby he make the baby cry on purpose he even vomite from crying coz he crys hard. this pains me alot.

Ill try to be specific here... I started fooling around with my bf...gave him oral sex for a few minutes (which could have possibly got rid of "pre-***") and then ended up having unprotected sex, but he pulled out a couple of minutes before he "came?" Since I am not on birth control, I am being paranoid. Am I ok? Is there a good chance of being pregnant?

We are looking to adopt. My husband wants a newborn first and an older child later. And I want to the older child first. He has had some bad experiences with attempting to raise is ex-wife's rebellious children and is not sure he wants to go that route.

I am 29 weeks PG and this morning I freaked out when after using the restroom there was blood in the toilet. I went to L&D (I am extreamly High-Risk) after a Urine sample we realized thats where the blood was coming from. Dr. said she thought it was a Bladder infection of a Kidney Stone. But she gave me NITROFURANTOIN MONO/MAC 100MG CAPS
which says its used to treat UTI's.

Has anyone had Blood in their Urine and what was the cause?

Have you ever had a UTI, Bladder Infection, or Kidney Stone/Infection During PG?

Do you remember what Dr. Perscribed you?
(if it was Nitrofurantoin was it a Yellow & Black Capsule?)

Serious answers please... So if it's a little TMI!

My son has been recently diagnosed with ADHD and is 8 years old. Should I t inform the school and see what special serices they may have to assist him. On the other hand, he is African-Amrican and I do not want him labeled as a problem child, or have this documented in his school record, or recieving "special treatment". Our psych doc said he has a mild case and it shall ot require medication, just behaioral therapy in which I agree. Many of the problems are external and can be adjusted. I am wondering should I nform the school to recieve reinforced help, or am I setting him up for trouble and labeling.

My mother-in-law bought my 3 year old a leapfrog video game for christmas and my wife and i are going to try and teach him letters and numbers. If you have sugestions about how to teach a child that doesnt seen like he wants to learn let us know. Oh and just a few things to add. When you sit down to try and teach him letters he does not seem interested he would rather play and draw on the chalk board. We have tried a few methods but nothing seems to work. (I dont remember what it was like teaching me but i hope i wasnt this hard):) Thanks in advance for all who answers.

well let me start off by saying i have a 1yr old daughter..so i have been thru the whole pregnancy thing before but im stumped right now thats where your help can come in..the last time me and my husband had intercourse was about a month ago..well 4 weeks(just a rough guess) now about 2 weeks after i had a normal period..now i just feel pregnant..im peeing constantly..and im falling asleep all day long for no reason seeming my husband is on vacation and has been letting me sleep in until almost noon!!! i plan to get a pregnancy test but do u think its possible i might be pregnant? also i know this is a little to much info but he did not ejaculate in me..we are not trying to get pregnant yet we are not trying not too..whatever happened we would embrace it no matter what! not worried just curious seeming i had a normal period but feel pregnant..also what else could make me urinate constantly and feel constantly tired? any help with this will be well appreciated! thanks so much all!

He utter words like papa,mama but not sentences.He begins to cheer when gets a scolding and doesnot follow all instructions.Doctor says he is not autistic.But why is he not like other kids of his age?When he was nine moths old he got seizure attack and he needs to take medicine thrice a day.

I've heard some women's stories where they have not gone into labour until 42 weeks, which horrifies me! I don't want it go on that long and was hoping to have my baby around 38 - 40wks.

My 2 1/2 year old Absolutely FREAKS OUT , cries hysterically when my wife or I leave the room or area even for 1 minute ... Is this normal ???? It's not all the time but enough to be VERY upsetting and frustrating to us both !!! PLEASE HELP !

We are stationed up north so it is very cold here, I came back after my hubby's deployed in July and my son has been sick since. I have taken him to 3 different doc's and the ER and they each have told me something different. One saids he just has a cold, one said he has an inner ear infection and the other saids there's nothing wrong with him. They keep giving me Sudafed 4 him and it seems 2 go away but a week later he's sick again... He had a fever a while back for like a week and they said that was ok as long as he was takin fluids. Now he's congested really bad and is coughing a lot. I have been using a humidifer and giving him Infants Tylenol cold and cough but nothing seems 2 be working, and the doc's here are worthless. What else can I try. I feel so bad 4 him because all he does it cry.... is it just a cold or something more serious.. I kno u are all not doc's but the doc's here aren't helping me either! he is only 14 months old! Any opinions would help!

my menstruation is delayed for a week, ive tried the home pregnancy test 3 times and the result is negative. what maybe the reason why im delayed? am i pregnant?

Here are the details
im already 21 years old... and my menstruation cycle is regular. i had sex with my boyfriend last december 9 i suppose to have my period this December 19, 20 or 21. its a week late. december is near to its end... and i still dont have a period. but as i said i used the HPT 3times and the result is still negative. is it accurate?

Hi all im wondering if anyone could help me here my daughter is now 27weeks old and since shes been about 12weeks would not fall asleep unless i lay her on her side then when she was fully asleep id put her on her back but now she is older and can roll around she keeps going onto her tummy to sleep, is this safe and if not what can i do to prevent it, thanks in advance

I'm 21 and 6 weeks pregnant with my first child and i have noticed that i get pain in my abdomen randomly and only lasts for a few minutes or so. I understand that this is normal. what i want to know is i get the same pain in the same place right after orgasm. This has happened on four seperate occassions.
