I had four children and all four slept on their fronts. They all preferred it and it was natural for them. They're all alive and well now.
However, when my last daughter was bornafter the Ann Diamond campaign, I was told her to put her on her back. I did try, she didn't sleep much and very fitfully. She fell asleep when I was busy with her one morning, on her stomach and it ws the first time she slept deeply since she was born. In desperation I left her, much to the consternation of the nursing staff.
I wold never recommend it because research has shown that it is safer for babies to sleep o n their back. I would speak to her your health visitor - she might have some suggestions to offer. I personally feel that babies prefer it and htat it soothes their immature tummies - I now I feel better sleeping on my stomach if I am in pain etc. But it is better to find an alternative way.

My son did the same thing. I read all the books I could find and asked his doctor, and they all said that there's nothing you can do at this point, he will sleep how he is comfortable. Kinda like how I always woke up sleeping on my tummy when I was pregnant, even though you aren't supposed to. From what I heard, she should be fine. At this point, if she has a hard time breathing in any position, she will move, and that is the main concern about SIDS. My son is a very healthy 15 month old now and he sleeps in all kinds of funny positions. You never stop worrying, but that's normal :) Good Luck with your little one!

When I was a baby I slept on my front and my son now sleeps on his front. If you baby is old enough to turn in its sleep then its fine as they can move if they feel too hot etc. As long as you bought a new matress for the babys bed and the room is well ventilated I cant see a problem. I know the midwife will tell you that it is not a good idea due to cot death etc and when they are very young I wouldnt advise it but once they can move by themselves you cant spend all night getting up checking that they are on their backs. You need your sleep too.
Try not to worry.
Your baby should be having time on their fronts anyway as it encourages them to crawl.
Best of luck

This is perfectly safe! My little one was the same, and now at the age of 2 won't sleep any other way, but on her tummy. Babies prefer sleeping on their tummy's and infact all my three older ones always slept on their tums! No worries ... she can move around now, so just let her be.

I think it's safe if she can roll around on her own already. can you gently roll her back after she's fallen asleep? then maybe prop pillows by her side so at least she will not roll so much. I know some old folks' say that placing a really light pillow or blanket across their chest comforts them too.

lower back to sleep. definite there's a eye-catching answer. little ones don't have the skill to instruct their heads on their abdomen. Co2 builds up close to their face and that they can't get oxygen, inflicting them to suffocate. putting somewhat one to sleep face down on a mattress could have the comparable result as overlaying their face whilst they sleep. The lower back to Sleep marketing campaign has particularly decreased the variety of SIDS deaths. the rage grow to be to place little ones to sleep on their aspects simply by phobia of youngsters burping or vomiting and choking for the time of sleep. that's way less possibly than the topics little ones have face down. just about all individuals have been raised in a custom that placed little ones to sleep on their stomachs. technology and study strengthen with the situations.

If she can roll over by herself, then she should be able to sleep safely in whatever position is the most comfortable for her.

As soon as they're able to roll over on their own the "back to sleep" doesn't apply anymore so you can sleep worry-free now.

Once they can roll over on their own, stomach sleeping is fine. Remove the crib bumpers, if you have any, and don't use any comforters, pillows or stuffed animals in the crib.

I wouldn't worry about it now. Once babies start rolling themselves over onto their bellies while they sleep, there isn't much you can do about it. Continue to place her on her back to sleep, but if she rolls on her belly don't stress. She'll be fine!
