Pregnancy & Parenting - 21 December 2006

I’m not talking about what parents can do to prevent their own children from bullying but what to do to prevent other kids from doing this.

My kids haven’t been bullied yet but I can imagine how it would feel. I often wonder what is in the best interest of the child though. Several kids in my own school system were bullied constantly. When it was reported it just got worse in and out of school.

Is there is anyway to prevent bullying that is effective for both the bully and the victim? Are there any programs out there that support this?

If your child has ever been bullied how did you rectify the situation or comfort him/her?

so my boyfriend and i had sex a few times not using anything and i mean pills or condoms!! so now im 2 months late my last period was 10-16-06 and on 12-16 i had slight spotting but that was it then it was gone !! ive been really tired and have had slight cramping and have been really stressed could i be pregnant?? im really concerned !!

I recently married a man with a 17 yr old son, My husband is retiered military, who returned to school full time and I work full time. I also bring 3 children to the marriage(ages13,9an7). I bring home 70K a yr. the step son does not work at all, has a car, is going on his senior class trip to italy, at a cost of $2200,as a graduation gift he is flying out to LA to see old friends and now wants us to also foot the bill for a summer trip to spain this summer. His car insurance is high 2'd to speeding tix's, we paid those also! My new in laws are well off, and have made it clear there are no provisions in their will for me and mine, just the "family"
well would it be out of line to suggest that the grandparents kick in for some of this globe trotting? I have maintained a budget,gone without dental care that I need and pray nothing happens to upset my monthly budget, then is walks diamond Jim, and Big Daddy just cant say no.Hubbys argument is the other 3 will get the same someday,!??

It's because in dancing i took her place and then someone told her that i said i was a better dancer and now she's writing all these rude comments about me on my bebo/myspace. She said if i report her she will hurt me. I told her i didn't say anything about her, but she still doesn't believe me. She swore on my page and called me a nerd twice. What should i do?? I want to keep a clean school record, i don't want to get into a fight! I also don't want to comment on her myspace/bebo ever again. I don't want her to talk to me - ever! And i don't want to talk to her.. She even got one of her friend to write on my page that i can't dance. I never even said i could dance... Help?? I don't want to fight and swear back!

My doctor was unable to detect a fetal heart beat but said it may be too early. He said only 60% of the time he is able to detect them that early and not to worry too much. I can't help but worry has anyone else had this experience?

am 31 weeks pregnant. I am thankful to have made it this far in my pregnancy with my so far healthy little girl. I have been having a rough past 3 days. My husband has told me that he married me while still in love with his ex and he took my virginity and he didnt even love me at the time. This is horrible news for me.
He has put me through so much since we have been married -- porn addiction, trying to meet women on myspace, carrying pictures of his ex in his wallet and wouldnt carry my pictures, mentally and emotionally abusing me... I dont know what to do anymore. I feel like im becoming weak because today I said if I wasnt pregnant I would commit suicide. I do not need to kill myself + I wont because I love my child and I would really like to raise my child and im so afraid that shes going to die because I have been very upset and crying. Im so ashamed of myself because she is going to have a trash bag of a father. I need to leave him but I am very sick. What should I do?

My 6 week old baby has trouble going to sleep after the last feed for the day (around 10 PM)...she seems to be having no other trouble than the fact that she's sleepy...but for some reason she just can't g to sleep until 12:30 AM or 1 AM when she's just too tired to fuss anymore...this has been happening for the past 2 weeks now and I am completely clueless :((...what can I do to help her...also, I think, because of this, she tends to be so sleepy during the day that she needs to be woken up for feedings and then falls asleep during a feeding

I am thinking that I may be pregnant, I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way beyond a HPT and a missed period to tell if you are pregnant. I've heard different things from people and online, but I want to hear from people with personal experience. Any advice will help, I plan on taking a test if I miss my next period (my last one was very light and short).

Im 16 and uncircumsized, I have phimosis and blah blah but the point is Im probably looking at a circumsision to fix this. Okay before people go off on a tangent, hear me out. I am 30 weeks pregnant and am going to try to give my child breastmilk. However, when I had my daughter she was unable to breastfeed. It made me feel so bad that I cried about it a lot at first. (I tried lactation consultants and the whole bit). So I pumped and bottled. Guess what? She couldn't tolerate my breastmilk either and at six weeks was placed on a specialty formula. Still everytime I turned around I was being told "breast is best" and it made me feel really bad. Anyone else in this situation? When people say this do they realize some kids can't breastfeed? Please give me some insight.

I feel him swimming around for an hour or 2 everyday at least 3 times. Am I right in assuming he gets more active as the pregnacy goes on? My daughter, I only felt once aday usually, at 9 months preg, but she is a calm child.

I started feeling this one 'swim' 5 days ago and everyday he seems stronger and to be up longer... will he get more active as the preg. goes on?

I am about 10 days past ovulation and yesterday and today I have been having mild cramping sensations and little twinges I didn't think much of it until today when I started feeling really sick in the middle of eating anything. I have no appetite what so ever. I was in the car driving home from the store when I just got the urge to puke I pulled over thinking I was going to but nothing happened. For the last few hours I have been having the worst headache imaginable with alot of increased cervical mucus I am still having the sensation like I am going to puke, my basal body temps are all above coverline and have been for the last 10 days. yesterday morning there was a big dip and then it shot back up higher than any other temps on the chart. WHAT COULD BE MAKING ME FEEL THIS WAY??? PLEASE HELP

My 2 1/2 month old has been taking similac advance but tonight he has been doing nothing but spitting up and being fussy he has spit up almost five times in one hour. He has always spat up with regular similac but not as much as tonight. Would it be ok to try him on similac advance soy formula to see if there is a difference I heard that helps with spit up fussiness and gas which he also has ALOT. Or is it not safe to switch without consuting his doctor or has anyone swithced and not had a problem and by switching I mean from regular to soy in similac.

So I am 30 weeks pregnant, and I will get this sharp pain in my ribs, thus I assume my son is kicking me in the ribs. Then a few minutes later I am getting jabbed in the bladder. My understanding is that he is pretty long at this point in pregnancy and I don't feel him flip over. At 30 weeks are they facing down or up? Can they flip without you feeling it? This will help me figure out where I am actually getting kicked.
