Pregnancy & Parenting - 17 December 2006

My 9 year old son has an insane fear of needles. At a recent doctor visit, the nurse did the finger-prick method of withdrawing blood. My son screamed because it hurt, then after she left the room, he almost fainted, then he threw up. I guessed he'd gone into shock but the doctor was more concerned about him barfing on the floor, so I didn't get to ask!! (Needless to say, I'm in the market for a new doctor.) He'd had blood drawn before, but he was quite a bit younger and had never had a reaction like this.
Then, last night while watching a movie where a character got his finger pricked for a blood test (you didn't see any blood), my son left the room, said he was sick, then fainted on the floor!!! He threw up after he came to. It was so scary! Has anyone experienced a fear this paralyzing? Even thinking about having to go to the doctor again gets him all freaked out!! How do we deal with this and how do I get my son to deal with it?

what does it mean when you spot pink after sex during your ovulation period. it was when i was wiping up and seen it.

& what does conception mean and do you know when it happens. could my very light pink spot have been from that?

i need some help finding a free clinic. My wife is 5 months pregnant and has not gone to a doctor yet. We dont have and insurance, and we make to much to get on medicaid and with our bills we cant afford paying out of poket. we are in palm harbor Florida. My sisters friend is 17 and her mom makes her do everything around the house the cleaning, cooking, taking care of her two brothers making sure they do their homework, clean their rms etc. Her mom also make her work so she doesn't have too and she goes to school (she is a senior) and if she doesn't do it her mom calls her names. Is this a form of abuse and would she be able to move out?

About 1 year ago i had my growth spurt and i grew like 3 inches. Ever since then i havent grown any....I am only 5'3 and a half right now. I am supposed to be like 5'7 but I havent grown in a year....I will grow a lot more right?

My daughter is 5 months pregnant.Her Doctor said it is normal to have contractions. Now she is going into her 5th month and is still having contractions. I never heard of such a thing. She is suffering and uncomfortable. Is this normal or should she change Doctors??

ok i have a friend that is into beastiallity and it just got me curious if it might even be possible for a canine to get a female human pregnant. or even for a male human to get a female canine pregnant. it bothers me and i've searched the net for the answer. all i got from that are sites with women having sexual intercourse with canines.

so in the end my question is, can a canine impregnate a human and/or the other way around?

I am desperate. My 2 yr old daughter has went to the potty twice a month ago and now will not go. I rewarded her and praised her and everything! I even let her pick out some underwear that she likes too. And she has a cool potty chair that she likes to play with. She hates diapers and doesnt keep them on. She also won't keep her underwear on. She just wants to carry her underwear around. And she knows what the potty is for too. She will sit on it for a couple minutes and say pee pee or poo poo but will not go. But yet when she gets up she will go pee or poop in the floor, especially in my bedroom floor. I dont know what to do with her. This is getting stressful. I'd like to go back to diapers but she will not keep them on. And she loves Elmo so I went out and bought "Elmo's Potty Time" thinking that would help... but no! You would think she wouldn't like pee running down her legs or poop all over her but she doesnt seem to care. I don't want to be mean to her or spank her. What to do?

At a 31wk ultrasound the tech told me he weighed about 4pnds 6oz, and was about 1wk 6days further along than what we thought. At my 37wk appt. the doc said he thought baby was about 4-5pnds? Did he not remember my ultrasound? Or are his guesses better than an ultrasound could predict??? My belly is on the small side too, does that make a difference? I've had no other problems and have been feeling good, almost like I'm not pregnant except feet aching and hips and fatigue! Thanks Due Jan 2nd!!!! 1st one!!

If your egg got fertilized for example yesterday...wouldnt the pregnanacy test show positive either way in just a couple of days??
