At a 31wk ultrasound the tech told me he weighed about 4pnds 6oz, and was about 1wk 6days further along than what we thought. At my 37wk appt. the doc said he thought baby was about 4-5pnds? Did he not remember my ultrasound? Or are his guesses better than an ultrasound could predict??? My belly is on the small side too, does that make a difference? I've had no other problems and have been feeling good, almost like I'm not pregnant except feet aching and hips and fatigue! Thanks Due Jan 2nd!!!! 1st one!!

I mean I was told he was 4pnds 6oz at my 31 WK appt, then the doc said at my 37WK appt. that he thought he was between 4-5pnds?????? How could he still weigh the same 6wks later? The doctor didn't even check my chart before he answered so, do you think he just guessed forgeting about my previous ultrasound????

Well, the ultrasound you did at 31 weeks sounds kind of much. Im not sure, but when my son was born at 34 1/2 weeks he was 5lbs 2 oz and was slightly bigger than they had expected. The ultrasound had said 4 lbs. So they arent always right. As for your belly being small Im sure that is fine. When I was pregnant with my 2nd son, my doctor told me that my baby felt small and was around 5 pounds..Well, 2 days later he was born and weighed 8lbs and 8 oz. So way off. They are just not sure and everyone carries different and you may just look or feel smaller, but arent.

Everything is fine. Well 4 pnds 6oz, would be 4 to 5 pounds. More than 5 you round up to 6. Most women have all of the symtoms, but some of them don't. You are the lucky percentage! Your belly will probley be small until 7 months, then you start to gain. Maybe not though, my best friend Lisa, is having a girl, and she is due in less then a week, and she only gained 10 pounds! Most mothers are jealous when they see she didn't gain any weight. She got lucky I guess. I sure everything is fine with your baby. Don't worry so much, Doctor's know what they are doing. You can get a second opinion, just to be on the safe side, if you want. I hope this helps

I am due Jan. 2 too-
My belly is small and my doc thinks the baby is about 6lbs right now...
I am sure your baby is bigger than 4-5 lbs.!!
You are almost 40 weeks- I bet your Dr. didn't even remember the ultrasound and messed up and said the wrong thing.
I bet by the end your baby is 6-7.5 lbs.
Everything will be fine- ultrasounds and dr.'s guesses are all PREDICTIONS, your baby may come out even bigger. Time will tell...as for now , just relax and enjoy the last few weeks- I know I am trying to - GOOD LUCK!

The ultrasound is a better guess but can still be off by almost 2 lbs at any given time. As long as you're measuring good I wouldn't worry too much about it.
My sister in law was guessed at having a 6lbs baby and when she was born she was almost 9 lbs. The "guess" had been made 2 days before delivery by feeling.
Be glad you're feeling so good. I only had about 2 months the whole time I felt good.

that is okay and i would not worry. It is most likely cause you are on the small size.
When i was 33 weeks they told me after doing an ultrasound that my son weighed 3lbs 11oz and was 14 inches long.
(I only gained 10 pounds while pregnant)
Then i had my son at 35 weeks (due to pre-eclampsia) and he weighed 4lbs, 15.6oz and was 17 inches long so you see he grew that much in 2 weeks time.
They had estimated that my baby would weigh 5 pounds at birth and he was only an 1/2 oz away from 5lbs.
My son was born healthy (he still is) and he got out of the hospital the same day i did.
Good luck

Your baby probably hasn't gained a lot of weight since the last ultrasound. I'm pretty sure there is nothing wrong. My daughter was 5lbs 1oz when I had her, she was premature, but she was healthy. You will be fine. I wish you the best cause I'm due April 1st and this is the second one. But you will enjoy seeing your child for the 1st time, no words can explain it. Good luck!!!

docs cant tell you really how big your baby is without seeing it first!he probly just told you what average size most babys are at this point in pregnancy because he cant say for sure.i would say if your baby was already 4 pounds at 31 weeks then your gonna have a pretty big baby!because babys put most of their weight on in the last month!and just because your bellys small doesnt mean youll have a small baby.you could be carrying it more internally!good luck!

I'm sure everthing is fine. Babies grow the most the last few weeks so your baby could weigh around 6 or 7lb when they are born which is completly healthy. Good luck and congrats!

4 lbs. 6 oz. is between 4 and 5 lbs. dear. The doctors don't guess, they mark down everything in your chart. You sound excited, good luck to you!

the burden for the toddler looks frequent ... slightly on the heavy ingredient if the toddler is in certainty on the better variety of that weight. the toddler is already on the better end of an user-friendly delivery weight so they do no longer opt to threat the toddler getting plenty larger if she is going previous the due date to evade needing a C-area and different issues. no longer something to fret approximately.
