Don't pay attention to him.. When he does listen make him feel loved, make him feel he is doing something good. I learned that by watching Super Nanny the other night.

He has found he doesn't have to listen to you. You need to be consistent. Get down to his level and tell him what you want from him, or expect. At this time tell him what his punishment would be if he doesn't. Then follow through. A time out for him should be 4 minutes, one minute per year old. Don't yell at him. Don't swear at him. Calmly tell him. He will come to respect you.

I pull the same thing on mine!! I don't listen when HE wants something from me...then when he says.."why aren't you listening to me?! I'm talking to you mom!" I will then say.."Well, maybe if you listen to me...I'd hear you!" It's a stage that some go through...but at different ages...My other son is almost 3 and already DOING THAT! So..it's just a phase...

I am using I... 2... 3... MAGIC by a Dr. Whelan I believe. It is a great book. You have to be consistent, though or it won't work.
