Plain old sudafed is the medicine that md's ok for pregnancy. Pseudoephedrine is the main ingrediant in that. In the sudafed PE, the main ingrediant is Phenylephrine. They both do the same thing, but during both of my pregnancies, I was told my multiple doctors and midwives to only take the plain old sudafed. Call your md or midwife for further consultation.

My best friends sister is a pharmacy tech and she told me when I was pregnant with a cold to take only plain Sudafed or plain Robitussin. By plain I mean that they don't help with multi symptoms, just with fever and cough per say. Ex. NyQuil is multi symptom, coughing, aching, sneezing, fever, etc. She also told me NOT to take ANYTHING with the PE, such as the Sudafed PE. Ask your doctor what you can take, and do a web search on medications in pregnancy, just to give you an idea until you can talk to your doctor on Monday.

If you don't know, don't take it! Call your pharmacist, they have the most and best knowledge about what you cna and can't take. I know that there are many restrictions. So please don't take anymore and call your local pharmacy. If you get someone normal on the phone, they will be more than happy to help you.
