While masterbation can be normal, there's also signs to watch for when children have been molested. Definitely talk to her pediatrician about this. When my daughter was young, her 5-yr old friend was displaying this type of behavior & turned out she had been molested by a gardener in their apartment complex.

masterbation in children is completely normal..
(if she is actually penetrating- I would find out if something has happened that you dont know of)
As far a the lieing, ABOUT WHAT? Masterbating? Have you Punished or Shamed her into thinking she is doing something WRONG? Why the questioning, of this ?
Not sure how old your daughter is, but maybe its time for a little more privacy...
good luck

First off do not listen to Guicho79. What a pervert-This person needs help!
Anyway my daughter went through this when she was 4. My doctor told me that masterbating and lieing were just her age(It didn't last long) Then when she was a young teen it came up again. And I just said that this was something that people do in private. And that it wasn't bad or good. also took the opportunity to have the "sex talk". Good luck.

If you are approaching masterbation like it's a bad thing then she will lie/deny her behavior.
No matter what age, I would recommend telling her that there are things a person does in private (grooming, bathing, toileting, being naked...touching self). Provide her with a private place to do these things and respect her privacy.
Please be careful to tell her exactly who has the right to touch areas covered by a bathing suit - herself (or doctor). She does not have the right to touch someone else.

it means she is sexualually active, There is no need to worry, this is normal in girls and guys, If she is a teen ager, Ask her if you should take her to a doctor, But if the child is 12 and under, and she feels kinda sexually active and is masterbating, Let her goo, Dont talk tabout it, or dont say anything about it till she comes to you, Because some children that age try it and if you instantly take them to a doctor that is worse then good, cause They would feel, that oh well its ok to have the pill at age 12 or 11, then you will have promblems, Just dont let her be alone for acouple of years till she gets over it, But if she is 16 bor above, Then i would take her to a doctor then,

It really does depend on how old, but masturbation is totally natural and you shouldn't confront her about it. She's just developing a sexual identity, and it's quite common starting from age 5 on. Boys masturbate in the womb, and as babies.

Get a grip, everyone masturbates at EVERY age. Toddler to adult, infant to elderly. Everyone does. So do you I'm sure. Stop treating it like a crime or stop watching her do it you sick pervert. How else would you know that she is doing it? Give the kid some space!

Jeez, why are you asking? If you catch her doing it, just tell her to take it to her room. If you catch her in her room, why didn't you knock? I bet she would quit before you came in.
Nothing wrong with rubbing off (I've also heard it called Jilling Off, as opposed to the masculine jacking). It basically none of your business as long as she is private about it.

i think it all depends on her age. an older girl is just responding to the chances in her body. a younger child is just doing what feels good. dont chastise her or she will grow up thinking everything sexual has a "bad" element.
