Pregnancy & Parenting - 13 December 2006

My husband is in the air force and this is the 4th time he is going to the desert. My son (who will be 3 in Jan.) has coped fine with the other times but this time he just is not getting that daddy wont be home for another 5 more months. How can i get him to understand with out confusing him or making him worried?

She came home from school yesterday and I could tell something was wrong when she got off the bus, she had that look about her. I'm sure you other moms know what I mean. And she was like nothing mommy, but can I ask you something?
I've always told her she can ask me anything and I will be honest with her.
She goes on to say that Nanny *my mom* got mad when she asked her. I tell ehr to ask me anyway.
She asked if I knew who her father was?
I told her yeah. I was kinda of shocked this has never came up before, though I knew it would eventually. He has only seen her 3 times her whole life the last time was when she was 3.
Then she asked if I was sure. I was like Yes I'm sure.
And she was fine with that ..I asked her if she wanted me to tell her about him or his name , she obviosuly doesn't remember him. And she said she didn't she just wanted to be sure that I knew.
Should I go ahead and tell her more about him or wait till she ask?

ok...i have had unprotected sex more then once about a month or two ago...and ii took a pregnancy test about 2 or 3 weeks ago one right when i woke up and nothing showed up then ii took another one the same day about 4 hours later and it was neg..i am supposed to start my period some where between the 17th-24th...i didnt have it last month...the last time i had to was in october.today i took a tylenol and i got a weird feeling in my mouth(i dont know if that has anything to do with it).but anywayz what are the chances that i could be pregnant?? oh and i feel a little nausea in the mornig and i have had two head aches in the past week.....and i haven t noticed any change in my stomach....someone plz help

Click on the link above ^ and look at the pictures of my OPK it is from one test the whole second line is not dark but the right hand part of it is as dark as the control line i tried my best to take the best of pictures as I could. so please just take a look at the pics and let me know what you think the result of the OPK is.

My baby is almost 4 months old, she holds her head up well, the thrust reflex is gone, she tries to grab food off my plate and she chews on her bottle and pacifier all the time as if she is trying to eat. Is it ok to start feeding her solids? I don't have her doctors ok yet.she told me to wait.

i'm 16 years old and 25 weeks pregnant. But when I see young girls on here asking for advice, i also see many people saying "you're too young" or "what were you thinking?" people make mistakes but why cant a 16 year old girl be a good mother? how does anybody know a 16 year old couldnt be a better mom than a 30 year old. Yes its based on maturity and how much you can provide for your child but, i dont think its right when there are 16 year old girls like myself that dont mind giving things up to support and love her child. I know this is yahoo answers but im just wondering why people think teens who get pregnant wont be good parents.

I had a miscarriage on the 2th. As of that day my HCG levels were at 294 and they should have been in the thousands had I not had a miscarriage. Two days later the levels were still the same. Bleeding has stopped about 4 days ago and we are going to give it another few days before we try again. Some may disagree but from what I have learned this is the best time since I am very fertile at this point for having already been pregnant just weeks ago. I dont want to take a test at the end of the month and have a false possitive. Most tests will be able to read anywhere from 20-50 HCG. When will my levels be low enough to be able to take a pregnancy test and know it will be correct? Also, when would I be ovulating and when should my period start (estimate/ eduacated guess) ? Thank you!!!!

Here is the situation:

You are in a public setting, lets say near a park. You notice a child crying. Your not sure of the age but you are certain they are in single digit ages. You notice the child is bleeding. The child says they are unable to locate their parents. There are other adults around, however none seem to be reacting to the bleeding. Others notice the bleeding, but have noticed as you have that the source of the wound is in the pelvic area. The other adults present seem to be avoiding the fact of the source of the blood. While not certified, you do understand principals of first aid. Now, what do you do...:

Treat the wound and worry about any misconceptions later.

Put a sense of urgency in locating the child's parents

Call 911 and hope for a quick response time

Again, parents if this is your child, what would you want the person to do?

hi my question is that could it be possible to become pregnant if last month my period came one week late and lasted six days and which is not normall for me at all since then i have had sex on nov14,26 and dec 1,9 but since my period was late i dont know which days were my peak days my period is supposed to come in the 18 of dec can i still become pregnant or not i am hopping iam ive been trying the past 2 months already. thanks to all your answers.

My goodness how can people be so vocal and adament about what they want the sex of a child to be!?!?!?!?!?!? You get what you get and that's it! Any living healthy child is a miracle!!!! Even if they aren't healthy they are miraculous!!! I understand that you might lean one way or the other, but GEESH!! To say before you are even pregnant to say "hopefully a boy"!??!?!? You people should talk to couples who can't have children and ask them if they'd care what they got!!! Or ask couples who have a sick baby if the sex makes a difference! Mean people, you sex choosers, you!!!!!!
