Everyone's body reacts differently with Depo...some women can get pregnant the first month they are due for a shot. It took me 13mths for it to get out of my system and to get pregnant. My RE said it can take up to 18mths in some women to come out of their system.

I was on the depo for 4 years. I got pregnant after 2 months. But the doctor told me it can take anywhere from 6 months to a year. EveryBODY is different.

well it took me 10 months, due in August 07. however my doctor did what he called speed up the process, he gave me a shot of progesterone, that was supposed to bring on my period. Which it did 3 months later. after 2 months I had a strange period every two weeks that lasted 7 days. so in order to help me ovulate and regulate my period, i was on that for 3 months and my first month not on clomid I conceived. so everyone is different, other people don't know enough about their bodies, or their partner has an issue. It can take couples a long time to conceive. Fortunately for me I already have two other children both conceived within 2 months of trying. (wasn't on depo for them). GOOD LUCK

I have always been able to get pregnant without any problem. I got two doses of the Depo shot... one in March, the second in June... I have been trying since September and I still have had no luck :-( I am due for my period... but too scared to get another negative result.... So I will wait until Monday to check :-)

We tried for 18 months to get pregnant after the depo shot. After that time I had my Dr send me to an ob/gyn for testing to find out what was wrong as my Dr had sent both me and hubby for testing. I found out that the shot has stopped my body from ovulating all together. I had to take clomid to start ovulating again. Just because you get your period every month does not mean that you are ovulating.

True, a year or more. I have been on Depo for years and the only thing it has gotten me was "bones made of glass" as my doctor describes it. I am on it for endometriosis, not contraception.
