Pregnancy & Parenting - 28 November 2006

I don't care about price. My 13 month old will scream until he throws up when I try to take his temperature. I need a reliable baby thermometer. We have one that is a binky and it doesn't work. We have one that goes in the ear, it doesn't work. We have one the hospital gave us, and it works but it takes forever. I would prefer not to use a rectal thermometer.

My daughter is 4 years old and I also have my step-daughter living here as well. Every night at bedtime I tell them to pick up toys, its time for bed. And every night she starts whining and crying about "im too tired"....or "i just need ____"....."I just cant"....its always something and its so aggravating! Ive tried rewarding them but I feel I should have to reward them for something they know they need to do. Does anyone else have any calm, rational suggestions to make this time easier for us all?

she is low on the weight scale so the dr. wants us to see if she can tolerate the soy again, we did - she vomited like my 6 yr old would have, everything came up, plus some. I think the doctors are guessing - any suggestions from those who have children with this condition?

I think im pregnant,im 12 days late,i took a test and there was a very faint line.If i am this will make number 3 for me and my fiance,he doesnt want another baby,but i do.our oldest is 6 and youngest is only 6 months.I know its close,but i dont think i could have an abortion.can anybody help,or give me some good advice?i would really appreciate it.thanx

Well me and my boyfriend had sex 2 days ago and the condom slipped. He had to kind of look for it because it was a little deep. (Finger length) He didn't ejaculate but there was precum and the condom wasn't spermicidal or anything. Can I possibly be pregnant? Also my period is due sometime this week.

I had my cycle 4 days early then it was suppose to be it lasted 3 day and my cycle usually 5-6 days its usually heavy but it was spotting first day then light pink then bright red the next couple of days when it went off it was spots again i thougt it was my cycle since my boobs where bigger which it never do and sore my mom said it was normal since your cycle changes but now it been about about 5 days since it been off my boobs are still bigger and a little sore still having some cramps and now my abdomen feels like i've been exercising like i'm sore or something and yesterday i woke up vomiting but to day i'm fine what could it be and if your about 4 weeks does it start to make your feel tight or like your sore from exercising PLEASE HELP

She lives 1 1/2 blocks away, her parents let her come over alone. I only know her 1st name.I don't know the parents,they have never met me. She walks past a registered sex offenders home. I had to walk her home on Thanksgiving day because we were leaving,she had to wait 5 minutes before someone unlocked the door.How can I tell her parents they need to be more cautious without offending them. It seems to me that they don't think about her safety. They don't know anything about me. I came home today at 4 p.m. and she was sitting on my porch waiting for my daughter....not a parent in sight. Should her parents be reported for being negligent or am I being paranoid? Lucky for them, I am not some sort of freak... I am just shocked that they can let her loose...there are 2 corners she has to go around..so they can not even see if she has made it or not. What should I do about this???

My 10 year old daughter wants their CD for her 11th b'day next week. When I went to buy it I noticed a song title...Lying is the most fun a girl can have with her clothes on. OK...i have irregular periods..i start sometime between the 17th to the 24th..i havent started this month.so this morning i took a eaquate preg. test && nothing showed up..so i took another one && it was negative but i drunk some mountain dew...could that affect the results?&&could i still be prenant...if not then why havent i started my period?PLZ help!!!

I have had all my periods since the my boyfriend came in me. My period in October was very late. It came on about 3 weeks later than usually. This month I have had a period and it was normal. I have headaches and I sleep and eat alot lately. I have been having pains in my stomach. I went to the doctor abour two months ago and he said my urine test was negative. my husbands grandpa is dying so im trying to be nice to my in-laws till this all passes.we dont get along to well but im trying to be civil. anyways, we were at the hospital (me,my husband,his mom, his sister,her hubby and their 3 kids.). i was sitting in the waiting room breastfeeding my 3 month old daughter. i was fully covered. my shirt was covering everything but my babys eyes and nose. well my sister and mother in law come barging in and my sister in law starts bitching at me! she said that i need to put a blanket over what i was doing! i said my shirt was covering everything up! she said that it didnt matter i needed to cover more she had children so i needed to do a better job of hideing it! i said whatever and ignored her. this really pissed me off. SO WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS AND BREASTFEEDING?? i told my hubby and he said ok to her no longer being aloud around me and my child or allowing her in our home. :)

I have read the books. I am very patient and offer other solutions to him. I don't spank. I use time out, even out in public. I talk, I listen, I hug, I carry him kicking and screaming. I bribe him with candy, I am sweet, I am stern. I have come to the end of the rope with solutions. I have used distractions, ultimatums, toys, talking sense, asking questions to him.

I am pregnant and due in May and am concerned that with a newborn and taking my toddler out it maybe a big problem. When we are at the park, the gym or anywhere else for that matter when its time to go, its a huge fight. I mean huge. He runs away and I end up having to restrain him and carry him off. Any suggestions?
