My daughter is 2 years old and we named her Cinderella. She has dark hair and brown eyes and is not the Cinderella you would expect but as every child does, she has grown into the name. In the beginning, there were some funny looks and questionable remarks about her name but for every negative reaction, we get more positive. Many people say they think it is so sweet and such a cool idea. I love Disney and plan to name all my kids after Disney characters. I also have a son named Sebastian. And someday, I plan to name my next daughter Rapunzel. Why not? Anything goes for kids names these days. Good luck!

Please don't. You're child's sanity and safety is more important than naming her after a Disney Princess. Stick with Ella. It's beautiful. Her name could be:
Ella Grace
Ella Olivia
Ella Madison
Ella Marie
Ella Ember/Amber
Ella Amelia
Ella Elizabeth
Ella Macenzie
I hope this helps. I'm not trying to be negitave but she will be made fun of so bad. You might as well steal all of her left shoes and make her sleep by the fire if you name her Cinderella.

A girl with the name Cinderella would go through childhood teased and tormented. You should think of the child and what she will go through with other children. Children can be very cruel. In the original story of Cinderella, "Cinderella" is a cruel nickname bestowed upon the girl by her evil stepmother and stepsisters. They named her that because she was forced to serve them as a cinder maid. According to a listing in Wikipedia, "The term Cinderella has evolved from its storybook beginnings to become the name for a variety of female personalities. Some girls are described as a Cinderella if they are meek and immediately submissive to stern orders. Others are called Cinderella if they tend to quietly complain. For example, a girl from a wealthy household who has been ordered to wash the dishes as a fulfilment of her once a month chores would be deemed a Cinderella; a fallen princess who has finally met with tough reality." I would select a different name.

You could name here Ellie or Ella (I personaly don't like the name Ella but shes your baby). There good names for when your older, but untill shes about 7 years old (give or take a year)her nickname could be Cinderella. Everyone could call her that untill she out grew it(or people started to make fun of her).

How about one of the more obscure princesses like Jasmine? Cinderella would definitely elicit a lot of attention (which princesses do need, I suppose), but this would get a lot of negative attention. Maybe a derivation of the name could work, Cindy, Ella--or maybe a first & second name combo...Instead of Cinderella, how about Cindy Ella--sorry, I tried!!
Names can definitely shape your child's future.

Like a few other have said Cinderella's real name is Ella. Ella is a great name. It is pretty popular right now though.

I think your gut feeling is that the name Cinderella just is not a real good choice. You can always call her that as a nickname though! Keep in mind that school children are ruthless and any name that is different will be used against her. Think up a classic name that evokes the lovliness of a princess!

Go with Ella, instead of Cinderella. The "Cinder" part was an insult from the evil Stepmother and Stepsisters.
Also, Ella is much more classy and beautiful.
Good luck!

no, kids would make fun of her when she gets older...and she may come to dislike her name when she get older...however...Cinderella's real name is Ella. The stepmother/sisters nick named her Cinderella (because she slept near the fire side in the cinders). So calling the girl 'Cinderella' might apply servent-ship and mockery...however, Ella is a very pretty name and you can tell your child that she was named after the disney princess.
