Braxton hicks contractions are not standard - not everyone gets them. They can also be called back labor, as I recall - so you will not get them until the baby is ready, if at all.
Peace!

Broxton Hicks contractions are not something that every pregnant woman experiences, and they are not experienced in the same way by everyone that does have them. They can start at any time during pregnancy, but usually begin around the seventh or eith month, or even the ninth. Some women feel them as crampiness in the lower abdomen, even in the hips and between the legs. Soem women feel them as all-over tightness. For some they are painful, for others they are almost pleasurable.
I've had three children, and BH ctx to varying degrees. With my first I only had a twelve-hr period of time with them five minutes apart when I was around 39 weeks. Some call that "flase labor" and others call it BH. Whatever it was, it was good practice. They didn't hurt and I felt them all over. With my second I didn't have them at all, and just went into full-blown labor at 41 wks. With #3 I had wonderful BH ctx from about week 10 through till birth. I LOVED them! They felt just like the contractions I'd have with orgasm, but not as strong. This, I feel, is the best way to practice labor :)
However, early contractions need to be patiently and calmly monitored, even while you can enjoy them. they can be a sign of pre-term labor, dehydration-induced ptl, stress-induced ptl, or a bacterial or yeast-induced ptl. Only you know your body enough to know if there's a problem. If you do feel there's something "not right" about contx (if you ever get early ones, that is), just call your midwife or ob, or get a good book on pregnancy. A really great one is Hey, Who's Having This Baby Anyway?
Hope this helps!

Some women never experience Braxton-Hicks contractions during pregnancy. With my first three children, I never experienced Braxton-Hicks but when I was pregnant last year, I had them from about 5 months on.
Every pregnancy is different. My pregnancy might not affect me in the same way that your's will. Don't worry too much if you don't have every ache, pain and feeling that other pregnant women have.
You might get lucky and never experience (feel) Braxton-Hicks contractions!
Good luck.

Some people never do. Each pregnancy is different for each woman. I've never had them, but have known many woman who have. Either way, at 24 weeks you should not be experiencing any contractions whatsoever, even Braxton Hicks. They usually present after 30 weeks or so. I wouldn't worry about anything and just enjoy your pregnancy!
Good luck to you and your new baby. And congratulations!

i never got them either. the day before i delivered i was cleaning house, trying to move things along, and everyone in a while i thought i felt something a little crampy but it only happened maybe two or three times. i did get admitted at 39 weeks, for something totally unrelated, and while i was being monitered i was haveing contractions but didn't feel anything. if you were going to get them i don't think you should feel them for another six to ten weeks though. good luck you must be so excited. Don't worry you will get enough contractions during labor with out having any extras

Not everone gets Braxton Hicks contractions (or ones that can actually be felt) Sometimes you just feel your uterus tighten but there is no pain or discomfort.

Usually you don't experience them until the end of your pregnancy. The contractions are Nature's way of allowing your body, your muscles, to practice for the real thing.
If you feel cramps or muscle contractions before nine months, mention it to your doctor.

they start at different times with everyone. Find the book 'What To Expect When You're Expecting'...that was my pregancy-bible with my first child.
Best of luck!! :)
