This is one of the main reasons why I don't believe in daycare--too many germy little kids running around. Can you get her a babysitter instead? It might be more expensive, but think of all the medications you won't have to buy anymore :-)
Just a little tip, put a thin layer of vaseline on her upper lip when she gets a runny nose. This will keep her skin from getting chapped with the snot running down.

children do not in many situations have allergic reactions. The clinical medical doctors will inform you a baby can't get allergic reactions until eventually they're a minimum of one million. i'm not particular about that. in many situations, if a baby has a runny nostril this is because they have a chilly or something. My newborn is in daycare, and various of the little ones have runny noses i ought to assert seventy 5% of the time. this is gross. i attempt to shop my toddler's nostril freshen as a lot as plausible. i will't stand searching at that!

Medicating her with otc drugs will only lower her immune system even more. Just like taking antibiotics too often will build up an immunity to them to where they don't even work anymore...I know from experience and from talking with doctors. I would check with a doctor to see if it isn't something more along the lines of sinuses or allergies...they can and will cause almost constant runny noses...or the complete opposite. It won't hurt to see an ENT (ear nose and throat doctor). At least if she needs medicine you will know exactly what to give her and not playing a guessing game...if she's allergic, it may be to something in the day care and you'd need to talk with the care provider at that point to try and alleviate the problem somehow.

It's probably just a cold. Try using antibiotics around the house and send wet ones to school with your child. Tell her to wipe them on her hands whenever she eats something and before. Also tell her to use them after going to the bathroom. If she runny noses continue then talk to your child's pediatrician. Good luck!

Our bodies make snot to get rid of germs. Let her have a runny nose. Teach her how to wipe with a tissue and blow on her own (if she doesn't already). Cold weather and allergies cause runny noses too. Most likely she doesn't need medicine for it.

I guess it depends on her age and her health. If she is teething she could get runny noses. If she is having allergies to something she could get a runny nose. Her body could be reacting to the weather changes (mine does this) and get a ruuny nose. I guess you should consider medication if it continues for long periods of time since the discharge can lead to ear infections.

Whether it happens in daycare or kindergarten, I think it's something all kids go through.
First, I'd consider finding out if she's teething, too. That may cause runny nose and drooling/fingers in her mouth. If her teeth are hurting, make sure she's on Tylenol or something for pain to keep her hands and the germ on them out of her mouth to cut down on sicknesses.
I'd suggest keep using OTC medicines. My doctor recommended Dimetap (tastes very yummy, too) at naptimes and bedtime so that my son's not groggy at other time. It's not so much to control the runny nose all the time, but prevent ear infections and too much lung congestion from the addtional stuff in his nose.
It does lessen with time, or it has with mine. My kids aren't in child care, but preschool a little and first grade. When they get a little older, like first grade, their immune systems are a lot stronger and she's rarely sick now.
Good luck.

It could be that she has an allergy to something at the day care center, such as pollen, grass or some trees or dust, go have a look around and see if anything is obvious to you, try an antihistamine and see if it helps.

You might try organic products. My son went through a lot of crap in his preschool days, you can't prevent everything but you can boost their immune system. Vitamins, juice, healthy food with good protiens and a checkup once in a while with the doc should keep the kid on the upside.

Ive noticed that everytime my 2 year old has a runny nose but doesn't have cold like symptoms, he always has an ear infection. You might wanna get your childs ears looked at. Does your child act like his/hers ears hurt them?
Good Luck!!
