Pregnancy & Parenting - 14 August 2006

I love my son so much and he's the sweetest, most loving child. He is a great person because he is comforting to others, he shares, etc. I haven't had to discipline him much because he always follows the rules I set down for him. Now here is the problems. He's starting to disobey and when I try to correct him, he thinks it's a big joke. How do I keep our good relationship and keep him in line. It's hurt my feelings as well as his. Thank you in advance. :-)

ok i like this guy and he likes me back.. im 14 and he is 17.. i know he is old but he goes to my church... ok well he told his sister that he was going to ask me out but he found out how old i was.. he knows that i like him ... ok well i think he is going to ask me out anyways... but the thing is i cant date until im 16!! =[[ so how do i tell him that i cant date him but i really want to???? plz help thanx...

Ok I was told not to eat SOFT Cheese and to stay away from UNPasturized Milk Products during pregnancy. My last dr visit was a rush. Next time I go I will ask but for the time being, can someone tell me if it's safe to eat the following:
Cream Cheese
Cottage Cheese
(And the Most Important) Sour Cream

I think it has something to do with contracting a bacterial infection from unpasturized foods.

Also - I have to limit fish due to Mercury. They said something about shell fish too (b/c of a possible allergy problem w/ the fetus)...Does this mean no shrimp/crab? I know it covers oysters/scallops.

I'll ask when I go, but until then, can someone clue me in.

This is my second pregnancy and I am just starting my 9th month. I don't remember exactly how Braxton Hicks contractions feel like, but I do know the difference between them and regular contractions. This has been a harder pregnancy for me (the baby is growing faster then expected) and lately I have been feeling wht I think are Braxton Hicks contractions ... where my stomach is all tight and sometimes with the tightness comes lower back pain. Are these Braxton Hicks contractions? If so, does anyone know when real contractions will start?

Before you all reply saying that Gay cannot be "cured" because it is not a disease or affliction, please consider the following. Once medical technology has determined which gene is the "gay" gene and can then turn it on/off with certain medicines, a test for "gay potential" can be given in utero (as is done with certain birth defects) and if the parent chooses, medicine to deactivate/activate the gene can be given. If we operate on the premise that most parents will not choose a homosexual lifestyle for their children (due to the high amount of social stigma associated with such a lifestyle), is it safe to say that homosexuality will become eradicated once the technology to do so in utero is developed?

Before i start i have done a test at the doctors just waiting for results. All i need to know is experience. My period are 2 weeks late, my boobs are a little bigger, i pee so often, i am dizzy do you think i am preggers? I now you all are not mind readers but humour a bored woman.

After my sister had her baby, her stomach was still very large and hard. I didn't think it looked right. Mine was loose and soft after birth. Just a few days ago she started bleeding very heavy, soaking through many pads, through out the day. She went to the hospital and they sent her home after taking blood. Can anyone tell the severeness in this matter? Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

Hi i have just asked a question about my 4 year old i need to ask another one. My 18 month old son is a mummy's boy whenever i leave the room to do something he starts crying i have left him before but he still cries. He follows me about like a lost lamb. He is also a lazy talker how many words is a 18 month meant to say. he understands everything he is very smart, but lazy when it comes to talking. I just need to know how can i get him to talk a bit more, and how do i stop this mummy boy thing.

I guess he ate last night an vomited and since then he has made some gagging noise. He is 9 days old. She called the doctor but they havent called back yet and she is a concerned 1st time mom. I never experianced anything like that so I dont know what to say to her.

At first, I thought it was all good, I was still small, never had to buy maternity clothes until my 7th month. Now, I can't even sleep at night.
