the rule is 6 weeks... but I have a different theory...
every one is different, if you feel up to working out, do it, just promise not to push it if you feel weak or if something hurts. I started running after 3 weeks, but waited for 6 to start playing soccer again... power to ya sister!

The doctor won't let you go back to work until 6 weeks or more after having a baby, so I think I would wait until then. If this is your first child, I would definitely wait that long. If it is not your first, you might be able to start slowly doing the exercises. But very little at a time. Your body is working on getting itself back to normal. Be careful. And if your still not sure what to do, call your doctors office. They can help you. Good luck

They say to wait 6 weeks after a vaginal birth and 8 weeks after a C-section, as long as everything is healing properly

I think I waited four but that was becuase at that time I wasn't feeling pain anymore. I would say let your body guide you. If you start doing something and you start getting sore then stop and wait a little while longer.

do you breastfeed? i hope you know that you lose alot of weight just buy doing that with my last child i lost 45lbs in 2 months with no working out just breastfeeding only and i weigh less then i did before i got pregnant. it might hurt to do it but the baby needs it and you get a reward for doing it its so true you might still have time if you have not started.

ultimately you can kind of decide when you feel up to getting back to your routine. Just don't over do it right of the start. Dr's usually say after the 6 week check-up.

I would suggest waiting until after your 6 weeks checkup with your caregiver.

My doctor said 6 weeks.
Your body needs time to heal.
In the meantime avoid foods that are unhealthy for you.
