Pregnancy & Parenting - 12 August 2006

I am currently 22 weeks pregnant. I was told by the ultrasoud specialist yesterday, that my cervix was short. She said they like it to be about 3cm or more and mine is 2 1/2. I have to go back in 2 weeks to see the length of it at that point. Has anyone gone through a pregnancy like this? Is there anything I can do to prevent a preterm delivery? When I left the office, I thought it was something small but then I went home and got on the internet and saw all this information that wasn't pleasant. Now I am really worried. Should I do less exercises or any other precautions?

how do you explain to your child they are the result of a rape ?
she is mixed ( b/w ) but everyone else in the house is white we all love her ...i just wanted to get some ideas on how i tell her .... or do i even tell ?

He has never done anything on the potty even if he sits there for a long time while watching tv etc...he says he's scared to 'go' on it and it's as though he won't release himself unless he's covered...what do I do? It seems like we've tried everything.

The first day of my last period was on the 18th of june. I am on the pill so my periods have been regular for awhile, but this last month i was on an antibiotic and had un protected sex several times. According to my last period i should have been ovulating around the first of august, and on the 6th of august i experienced some light spotting, as well as the 7th and 8th, (a few spots each day) could this be implantation bleeding or could maybe the antibiotics themselves have caused this?

my daughter is two years old. she utters some easy words in her mother tongue but not much. she can understand what others say and can show every details like hand, eyes, legs, television etc. with ease . she can make others understand what she wants to say by using signs. she has the tendency to utter the first part of the word but not the whole word. I think she should have picked up speaking sentences by now. but its not happening. we are very worried. please advice.

to start potty train?? I have a boy who's 20 months and he tells me when he is dirty, I rember starting potty training my daugther when she was 2 1/2 that's when she started to go to daycare, my boy has being in day care since he was 4 months so that's why at least he tells me when he is dirty ... Will this be a good time to start potty training???? Any suggetions :)

ok i havent had a period since july 4th, well obviously i took a test and went to the doctor, all negative test results, if i am pregnant i would be in week 5, so i dont understand why i am haveing negative test results and no period? and by the way i never ever miss a period, the last time i missed a period i was pregnant with my first child, and yes my husband andi have been trying for a second one so iam jsut not sure whats going on, i keep having little what feels like period cramps but not as painful, and no period, and this has went on for about 2weeks. so i am just confused, i feel pregnant though.

I have not had my period for 5 months. I think it's from having surgery done. I went to the ER 5 weeks ago to find out what was going on with my body. They did an ultrasound. Everything's fine but no baby. I've talked to my doctor and asked him if it was possible to get pregnant without having a normal cycle. He told me that it was. Well about 3 weeks ago... I thought that I was starting my period and I got so excited (my husband and I are trying to conceive). I had light bleeding for 3 or 4 days. Brownish at first and then light pink. I've been more tired and getting headaches. My breast are a little tender and my hubby says that they are a little bigger and slightly darker in color. I have been feeling queasy from time-to-time. I took an HPT the other day... it looked like a neg... but a closer look showed of a slight chance it might be a positive. So I am waiting a few days to take it again. My question is... is it possible to get pregnant without having a normal cycle?

my son is not sitting up yet on his own. at what age, does it happen?? he will be 7 months september 3rd. When i put him in his exersaucer, he hates it cuz he is not steady in ot yet. he will fall forward. is there anything i can do to help him try to sit up on his own. i do put him in his boppy pillow upright but after 5 minutes, he does not like it. I do put him in his swing upright and his bouncy rocker and he loves them.

ok me n my boyfriend had sex aug 8 n he can inside me 3times and 2day im bleedin, but usually when i start my period its a lot more blood. and 2day im goi nto the store to get a pregnancy test, can i take the test 2day and would it give me the right results?

I was on birth control, but I could have gotten pregnant so I stopped it. I was on it for less than a week, and a pharmacist at walgreens said it would take a month before it would be effective. I started bleeding a few days after the conception could have taken place. I don't know if this was because of going off of the birth control or if it was because of a miscarriage or just an early period. I know that there is something called implantation bleeding, but this was much lighter than that was supposed to be. If anyone knows if there's still a chance I could be pregnant or any other information, I would really appreciate it. Also, the bleeding has gone on for about 5 days now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone help, my friend has a 11 month old baby girl and next to her nipple there is a lump under her skin the size of a small marble. Has anyone heard of this before and what could it be? The mother has booked a doctors app. for Monday but as you can imagine is really worried.
