You can't have a period and be pregnant. It's possible to be pregnant and have abnormal bleeding but it's not a period.

A pregnancy test +, or a blood test +, from the doctor. It's rare to have happen but, not unheard of. USUALLY you will start getting tender breast, morning sickness exc, not feeling right that would cause you to test. I know a girl that was 17 weeks! before she knew because she still had light periods spotting was too young to know that was not normal. Her doctor tested after feeling her uterus was enlarged she was 15 at the time. The baby was healthy fine and adopted out. My mother had off/on bleeding with my youngest brother he was born full term fine now 21.

This happened to my wife with all four of our kids. The .'s are much lighter than normal, and you should only experience the spotting for a few days to a week. After that just take a pregnancy test.

You could always take a pregnancy test after your period is done.

There is also the option of going to the Doctors and having blood work done. They could also do an ultrasound to see if you are.

this has never happend to me, but you can go to the doctor and get an ultrasound and that will tell for sure! also fetal movement will help. also fetal hearbeat. but i have not really heard of that happening very often.

it's not very common, but I suppose you'd figure it out if you got morning sickness, or when you felt movement or if something just wasn't right and the doctor ordered a bunch of blood work.
It's never happened to me however.
