You're not always late, thats probably your natural cycle. Mine is nearly 40 days. I just happen to ovulate on day 22. but it changes from month to month some times.
Your best bet is you go on ebay and buy ovulation strips from a medical whole saler. thats how i was able to determine when i was ovulating. You can get about a hundred for around 30 bucks. They work great. be sure to test for atleast two cycles, and pee on them even when you're on your period, since some women can even ovulate on their periods (i just happened to get pregnant this time around on my period... lol).
Dont listen to these people about seeing a doctor for your cycle... its not a problem if its your regular cycle. If you're always 45-50 days thats your cycle. Not everyone cycles every 28 days. Not everyone ovulates 14 days before their period either, besides that 14 days is for a 28 day period, it dosent apply to longer or shorter ones.
Doctors tried to regulate my period because they said it was too long and i wasnt ovulating. Bull crap. It made me sick and screwed me up for a year. I was ovulating just fine, i just cycle on a 38 day cycle is all.

Infertility is a problem that a lot of women face everyday. You are not alone and the good news is that you can solve this problem.
If you have problems to get pregnant you can check this method http://get-pregnant.keysolve.net
It is a great method that helps to solve naturally infertility problems and it has already been tested by a lot of people with great results.
I definitely reccomend it and i'm sure that will help you! Anyway don't stress over it, stress can make it harder to get pregnant for most women.
Just remember that ovulating occurs about two weeks before your period, if you have a regular cycle. There are also some things you can do to help determine whether you are close to, ovulating, or not close.
Online there are sites that will tell you the best tips to get pregnant faster.
You can get pregnant in less than a month when trying this http://get-pregnant.keysolve.net
You can also determine when you're ovulating with an ovulating prediction kit, you can buy them at most stores and they are found with the pregnancy tests. You can also buy a basal body temperature thermometer.
There have been many women to succeed with those types of methods. Did you know that it can take up to a year for most couples to conceive a baby, even when they have sex everyday for a year? It's actually normal. Conception isn't quite as easy as people make it out to be. Don't stress because it will happen for you.

You need to determine when you are ovulating.
Everyone ovulates at a different time. To find out when you ovulate and how best to schedule some baby-making, start taking and charting your Basal Body Temperatures (BBT).
To check your basal body temperature, start keeping track of your temperature on the first day of your period using a basal body thermometer (you can buy one at any pharmacy), which shows minute changes in your temperature. You should take your temperature as soon as you wake up and before you get out of bed. If you can, take your basal body temperature at the same time every morning. When you have done this mark it on a chart.
It's helpful to chart your temperature for a few months so you can see whether there's a pattern to your cycle. If you're sick or fail to take your temperature immediately upon awakening, any pattern you find may be inaccurate. Thermometers that remember the last reading are helpful if you tend to go back to sleep after taking your temperature.
Also check your cervical mucus. There are three ways you can do this: using toilet paper or your fingers across the opening of your vagina, wearing a panty liner (which is sometimes hard to detect) or inserting your finger into your vagina. Note the consistency of the mucus. You may also want to monitor its texture throughout the day. If it’s clear and slippery, about the consistency of raw egg white, then you’re at your most fertile.
You should notice a rise in your temperature signaling that you have ovulated at the same time your mucus will look and feel like egg white. When the two coincide, then you know it's time to start trying to conceive.
Usually once you've ovulated, your window of opportunity is starting to close (but not completely closed), but with the BBT chart, you will have a better idea of your ovulation date for the next cycle.

Normally a woman is most fertile 7 days before a period & 7 days after. I too, all my life have had irregular periods, could never understand why, until i decided to seek professional help, so i went to see a Gynaecologist. He did test & found that i regulary get Ovarian Cyst, which form on your ovaries . They are most caused from irregular periods. In most cases they go away on there own when you have your period, BUT in other cases they don't then they need to be removed - like a Laparoscopy. In other cases like mine, i get them so often that they've developed into ENDOMETRIOSIS - & there is no known cure for that, except having to remove them more often than usuall. Another way of telling whether you have Ovarian Cysts is, when you do eventually have a period you have either;
1. severe period pains
2. Spot bleeding
3. Irregular period cycles
SO, i you are seriously thinking of having children my best advice to you is visit a professional GYNAE - he'll find out what your problem is as having such irregular cycles makes falling pregnant much harder. He'll be able to give you the best professional advice you need. GOOD LUCK

I wish I had an answer for you. But, like you I am in the same boat. My cycle is a mess to say the least. I was going to take clomid this cycle but was afraid of the side effects. I know that they are different with each person I just wasn't ready to be a hormonal nightmare

Not trying to be a smart ***, but if your period is always late- then it wouldnt really be late would it??
It'd be a nornal cycle for you...
Normally it is like 4 days before the halfway mark... so for you like a week to a week and a half before the halfway mark...
They say it can take up to 10 days for the spermies to reach the egg...

No in case you have not had intercourse your not. It would not propose your ill the two, its in basic terms your 2nd era so your physique hasn't set a common cycle. it ought to not come for yet another 3 months. Your physique continues to be very youthful and in simple terms arising. do not stress out approximately it or which will make it worse. i'm 21 and my era in simple terms finally is on a some what common cycle!! Its ok your wide-spread, that's how that's for many women!! good luck!
