Don't its a faze and will pass. I t is also a very important part of growing up while your baby may look like he/she is just making a mess they are actually dicovering new textures through their mouth at this age its how they learn thats why they put everything in their mouths that and the fact they will be teething

My baby is 7 months old and she does this too she especially likes to do it when she has something bright orange in her mouth that will defiantly stain lol I think we will just all have to sit it out together and hope the little find a nicer habit soon.
Take care ♥

My six month old does the same thing...havent figured out how to make it stop - but I make sure I dont smile or laugh when she does (I dont want to encourage the behavior) and I wear an apron when I am feeding her! Also, I keep a wet paper towel handy to wipe off the high chair, floor, wall,etc...when she sprays...I feel your pain!

That' so funny. I have a 7 month old who does the same thing.
He only seems to do this when he is full or he doesn't like the food we are giving him.

lol. unfortunetly you can't! its great when they hit that stage though my son did it to me the first time when i was in a massive rush and needed to be straight out the door. however if you distract them, let them play with a toy while you feed them or sing a song or make play with the food. they soon stop my son only did it for a few weeks its just a new novelty for them they'll soon get another trick from up their sleeve to replace it!

LOL i'm so so sorry all you can really do is say no in a nice firm voice and distract them, or each time he does it leave them him in his chair and move away or leave the room for just a minute he might get the idea....but if he's really enjoying doing it a lot...well your gonna get covered no matter what....
Very best of luck

You don't, it is all part of the learning process. Generally if she/he is doing this it means that they have had enough food.
My son only does this when he has had enough and he is 11 months.

You don't, he/she is just playing, experimenting.
"Hmmm... what will happen if I do THIS with my food? Ohhhh!! That was fun! I think I'll do it again! Heyyyy!! I got a great reaction out of Mom with that one! I think this is my new favorite game!"
He'll get bored with it and move onto another game. Mine does it too. Just keep a lot of wipes on hand while you're feeding him.

My 8mth old does the same thing! At first we just thought it was funny and cute but then I realised that he does it when his gums are hurting.
Try giving your babe some cool half-slices of cucumber (one at a time), or maybe rub some teething gel onto his/her gums and see if it makes any difference. It worked for us. :-)
Good luck
