to start potty train?? I have a boy who's 20 months and he tells me when he is dirty, I rember starting potty training my daugther when she was 2 1/2 that's when she started to go to daycare, my boy has being in day care since he was 4 months so that's why at least he tells me when he is dirty ... Will this be a good time to start potty training???? Any suggetions :)

when he can tell you his needs to pee or else
when he can put his pants up or down by himself
When you start training him, don't stop... and be consistent!
If he asks 10 times in 15 minutes, take his request seriously.
Sounds like your little man is ready!

Yes. If he can tell you that he has soiled himself he can tell you when he has to go. This is a great time to start training him since he at least knows the difference between clean and dirty. He should potty train fine. Good Luck!

Anything you want your child to learn, you must prepare in advance. Say, next week or so I'm going to help you learn to use the big people toilet! Are you ready today? Do you want to try today? If he says no, smile and say, ok, you might be ready next week then. Ask every day, several times a day...like when you use the poddy ;) The idea will set in his little head eventually...he will want to try by the end of one week. Don't get frustrated mom, kids always learn by watching you...everything...hehe.

As long as he is showing the signs then he should be ready. But if he is not don't push him to hard. The doctor told me that boys are more likely to get constipated if they are pushed too hard so make sure that he is good and ready.

all three of my kids boys and girl were potty trained before they were 2..if he can tell you when he stinks he can tell you hes gotta sit down...dont let him fool you hes smarter then most adults
