we have been saving for the last 5 months and have a nice chunk saved up, but i am still nervous that it isnt enough. About how much money should we have in the savings by the time baby comes? He will be here in november.

i am a single mom of a 5 1/2 year old. i am going crazy thinking about having another baby! i love my daughter so much, but there is something about a baby. i am seeing this guy and really could see us being married. i am waiting to have sex until marriage this time! when is it too late to have a baby again? what is a too big of an age gap between children?

Okay, here's the scoop...My husband and I are on a limited income and his sister is having a baby. We are driving nearly 20 hours to be at the shower (which will cost enough on it's own) but now my in-laws have hinted that they want me to buy a certain gift that is $200. I think that's crazy. What should I do and how much should I spend?

if u are a virgin & you are having outersex, but the penis rubs the vaginal area @ the tip can you get stds?

i'm about to lose my mind. my kid just about burned our house down today. he lit a piece of trash on fire in the garage. then took it outside and put it out. that could've been reaaaally bad.

the day started with a lie, and has continued onward.

and then, i get to deal with his mom. who is supposed to take him every tuesday through thursday. last week she dropped him off on wednesday; right in the middle of a quiet, romantic and much-needed date.

so this week she can't take him tomorrow because it's the 4th, and she has a job going all day. and she can't have him because she'll be in a shop. well guess what!! a couple weeks ago i had jasper with me for NINE hours at the freaking wedding chapel, because no one else could watch him.

not a big deal about the 4th--except that we had dinner plans. that i scheduled, not knowing she wasn't taking him.

what do i do!??????????

Ok, if you are under doctors orders to give your preschooler medicine, but she refuses, kicking and screaming, what can you do?? Is the only option to force feed her the medicine? And isn't that considered child abuse?

I am a 27 year old single mother with a daughter's father who has a girlfriend but as soon as I started dating now he does nothing for us. I've been so stressed I lost my job a month ago I'm starting a new one in 2 WEEKS!!!! Unemployement was denied so yes my bills are piling up. Me and the person I am dating continue to bump heads. But the bottom line is I have a 6 year old daughter in the middle of chaos with two disfunctional parents. It is no fair we brought her here. Now I will never have another child again. My car was broken into and my radio was stolen and that was the straw that broke the camels back! For the first time I have actually thought about suicide. I don't want this unstable life for my baby! I have friends and loved ones but I don't think they can help me with this. So I came to the internet not knowing just what to type in the address field. But yahoo is my homepage and ASK YAHOO jumped out at me. Whatever info you have even an inspiring word or experience please!

Two of my grandchildren have developed 'spoon' shaped toenails. They eat fairly well - good varieties of foods. One is a twin and the other twin does not have this problem. Anyone know what causes this and can it be reversed to their normal shaped nails?? PLEASE --serious answers only.

My Friend and I are Moving into a Apartment together and she's pregnant and we need to know what to do with the father of the baby! He Beats on her which is why i took the situation into my hands. He's Broken her nose and beat her down to where she was in the Hospital. She's about to give birth and now he wants to act like he changed but he still grabs trys to get physical with her.... Should we get a restraining order and prevent him from seeing the baby??? Let me know what to do??!!!

She got these as a gifts:
scrapbook
baby keepsake for tooth, hair and birth certificate
baby books

What else does she need? She doesn't have any bedding, sheets, clothes, etc.

My mom has always had a her-way-or-no-way attitude which has kind of led me growing up to be a pushover & not able to speak my mind very well... I am 7 months pregnant now & cant drive, we live an hour away from her. My 2 year old daughter is a handful and I love her to bits but I needed a break to rest, so I let my mom take her for the weekend... BUT that was LAST weekend;Tuesday we found a bigger house opening up so we're now in the process of moving, so I let it go without saying anything since my daughter would make this an even bigger ordeal if she were here right then.
Ok, so today I called my mom & asked if she's going to bring Kc back tonight & she flat out says "No" and starts in with how she's looking after my aunt who's eldery & lives with her... she uses my aunt as an excuse for never bringing my daughter back on the day we agree on, but when it come to her picking Kc up, leaving my aunt is never a problem! How do I deal with her, Short of filing kidnapping charges?!

My son is now 3yrs, and will not potty train for the life of me. We have tried everything. When we first started he started beating himself up. It scared me so we stopped. The doctor says it need to be his idea, but how do I get him to want to? I would like to put him in preschool, but they wont take him untill he is trained. Plz help!

My daughter was bitten my a ton of mosquitos last night. She wont stop itching them, her ankle is swollen from her itching it. She on not allergic. I have been applying Lanacane, which usually woks. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do. She is only two. Baking Powder? Toothpaste? What works best?

Another question lead me to ask this one. Do you notice that kids in school are babied? My children are in elementary school. Like other schools, there are awards for student of the month (given for good citizenship), there are some at the end for the year for math, science, cooperation, etc. Yet all the kids get an award! Why must each child get an award in order to make things "fair" and to be careful of their self-esteem? What happened to the days when the kids that worked for those things are the only ones who got them? There are lots of other examples I'm sure you all can think of. Are we teaching our children that you dont' have to work for anything cause you'll get it anyway? And the lack of discipline? And the entire paranoia about self-esteem? Does anyone agree that we are raising children that are completely dependent on everyone else to make them a success in life?

My baby's dad is an alcoholic and I know his liver is damage from his drinking, not only that I got an PFA on him for his abuse on me. I don't want to hurt him with the baby I just want the courts to help me to order him to get treatments for his alcohol, depression and there is a chance that he is bi-polar. He is not ready to be a dad but he did watch my other son, while I worked on the weekends. The only bad side is he left my son home alone so he can go to the bar to drink and that is when the abuse started. I had to come home from work and did not make money because of his drinking. I want him to have supervised visitations because he will drink if he does not have his visitations supervise and with his drinking he will not be able to care for our baby. I going to file full sole custody of the baby next month so when the baby is born my attorney can schedule a hearing date for custody. Should I file child support in the baby's dad's condition. He has threaten suicide on me.
