I've been taking birthcontrol for about 2 yrs now. I started taking them for my period and so I wouldn't get pregnant, of course. I would usually have a light 4 day period with no discomfort. However, for the past 2 months it's been heavy and I've been cramping really bad. Maybe I need something stronger. I was thinking of getting on the pills that reduce your period to like 4 times a years (I can't think of what it's called) but I'm concerned that it would make it really hard or even impossible to have kids later. Is this true?

I am an ex-cutter... My daughter has just started grade one and one of the other kids pointed out to her that "your mommy has scars all on her arms" I tried telling her not to worry about it but now she is always asking me where they came from. I am not sure if I should tell her the truth or something else. Can someone pls help me???

My ex and I have been divorced for 4 years. For the last 2 1/2 we have had joint custody but the boys ages 9 & 11 live with their dad most of the time and I get to keep them everyother weekend and once a week except this summer we take turns keeping them a week at a time everyother week. The problem is that my 9 year old last night realized that they go back to their dads tonight for the week and he locked himself in his room and packed his backpack and told his brother he was going to run away. Well, I knew he really wasn't and tried to talk to him and I also called his dad to see if he could spend some time with them and talk things out because when he does have them his job keeps him from them most of the time. I know they aren't being abused or anything like that. Their dad loves them but I know they want to live with me and their dad won't let them because he doesn't want to pay child support. It won't work to go to court. There has to be a major change in circumstances.

I did a pregnancy test last night and in the not pregnant window there was a very dark line and then a line came up in the pregnant window, This line was clear to see but was not as dark as the line in the not pregnant window. On the box it said if there were lines in both of the boxes then im pregnant. Do you think i am or not as i thought the line would go as dark as the other.

I get full custody of my neice on Monday. She's 4 months old. Her mother used to leave her for a whole day on the streets looking for crack, so my neice is underweight. She is very clingy to any caregiver and does not want to be put down, even the Case Worker who first introduced me to her. She has a serious case of diaper rash from my sister not caring for her properly that needs a prescription ointment to cure. In the meantime, the Case worker has suggested desitin? ointment at ever change, even the pee pee ones. She has some bruises too and her arm has been fractured. I don't know if we are strong enough to see her on Monday and bring her home without feeling ovewhelmed. I have no kids of my own. Just give them hugs and kisses? Take them on outings? I'm afraid she will be afraid, and feel insecure with us even though we just want to try our best to take good care of her.

I had taken an EPT home pregnancy test and the result was positive. My fiance and I were joyful with tears. I made an appointment with my GYN... which wasn't for 2 weeks later. Meanwhile we were excited believeing we were going to have a baby. At my appointment my doctor did bloodwork and came in to the room and informed us it was Negative. I wasn't pregnant! It hurt so badly to have a misleading result. What can make a pregnancy test positive if your really not pregnant?They say that a positive is the (hCG) was detected. How can that be found if your really not pregnant? Where does it come from? Thank you all for your help as well as support!!!

I am adopting my niece who is a baby born to a substance abuser. Do I need to tell this history to the pediatrician? I am going to interview a couple today. But, I need to choose quickly becasuse the baby is coming to me on Monday. What are the traits of a good pediatrician? She will be covered under our insurance.

my baby is 4 days old and i need help off someone i am traveling on a train for a hour and then in a car for another hour just to show my baby off and my midwife said it is ok and i think its ok but will it stress a 4 day old baby out some people i have spoken to say oh you should never go out for more than a hour because of the lungs they are not strong enough and told me to stay in for about 2 weeks i just dont want to stress my baby out she would be fed and change before i go and when she arrives at familys home

My neice is a few days short of 4 months, and she is only 10 pounds. Do I buy newborn clothes? Or do I buy the 0-6 month size? What diaper? I see the newborn sizes go up to 10 lbs. usually, or should I get size one to be safe? My employer has given me paid leave for one month due to thie extenuating circumstance to "figure this all out". And I'm still lost. How much clothing does a baby need in their wardrobe? I've been to the Carters outlet and spent close to $300 on receiving blankets, burp cloths, towels, booties, 0-3 month clothes (figured I couldn't go wrong there) and baby items like wipes, diapers and lotions, wash, etc etc. What else do I need?

I'm 8w4d and I've been having cramping with this pregnancy since 4-5 weeks. It's worrysome because it wakes me up at night, my back hurts and I'm worried something is wrong. I've already had one ultrasound (at 5weeks) and I was at the ER last night to make sure I wasn't going to miscarry. My cervix is closed and there is no blood around it, my levels are checking out ok...they said they had to call it a threatened miscarriage even though there were no other signs of miscarriage then the cramping and back pain. Has anyone else had this so early in pregnancy? It shouldn't be ligaments because that usually happens when the baby get a lot bigger...so what else could it be?

1) 6 days after I ovulated, I had a very light brown spotting.
2) Tender breasts
3) Very high unusual temperature (fertility temp)
4) mild cramps in my abdo and stomach.
5) fatigue
6) when empty stomach, I feel a bit nauseated
7) burning sensation near the navel. As if some one is pulling my navel inwards.
