I'm 8w4d and I've been having cramping with this pregnancy since 4-5 weeks. It's worrysome because it wakes me up at night, my back hurts and I'm worried something is wrong. I've already had one ultrasound (at 5weeks) and I was at the ER last night to make sure I wasn't going to miscarry. My cervix is closed and there is no blood around it, my levels are checking out ok...they said they had to call it a threatened miscarriage even though there were no other signs of miscarriage then the cramping and back pain. Has anyone else had this so early in pregnancy? It shouldn't be ligaments because that usually happens when the baby get a lot bigger...so what else could it be?

Looks like we are at the same point in pregnancy. I had a threatened miscarriage with my son at 6 weeks, I was bleeding old brownish blood, I'd say moderate spotting! Anyway, my son was fine.

I hate to be personal, but are you constipated at all....that is very common with pregnancy and could be causing your cramping. To make yourself better, ask for a transvagnial ultrasound...if they find your baby and a heartbeat, you have a great chance of being fine.

It could also be an ovarian cyst...they are very very common and usually formed by the ovary that released the egg that became your baby...they can cause pain and pressure....an ultrasound would tell you.

So far, you have no signs of miscarriage....no blood, cervix closed and good levels. I think you are fine.

I understand your fears.....I've had good levels, two great ultrasounds with a nice steady heartbeat in one, but after 2 years of trying, I'm scared to death!

Good luck and God Bless!

You uterus is expanding a great deal very rapidly. Try not to worry..easier said than done, but worrying won't make the cramping go away. In the ER they have to call it a threatened miscarriage for billing purposes, so don't worry about the label. It actually could be ligaments, but usually ligament pain is sharp and quick, not crampy. Also, the baby embeds very deep into the uterine tissue. I cramped and spotted with my second son from 5 weeks until roughly 10 weeks it was usually blamed on embedding, uterine growth, and my old c-section scar stretching.

I had cramping and back pain really bad and didn't even know I was pregnant. It should subside with in the next month or so. My Dr told me that I had a cyst that could have been causing some of it (it's normal and pregnancy hormones kill it) and also it's because of your uterus stretching and organs shifting.

As long as the dr says everything's ok don't stress yourself out over it. But if it gets worse or you have any bloody show go to the er right away.

Well I had the same problem I was bleeding at 9 weeks went to the ER and they said the same thing. I'm 12 weeks preg. now and the bleeding started again. This time thow the ER doctor was an ***. He did the pelvic exam and said he saw blood clots BUT wasn't sure if it was tissue (meaning maybe a miscarriage) So I had to wait on the Ultra sound guy and it was for ever. Thank God he heard the baby heart beat. So it sound like we are in the same boat. So just pray to God. He will bless you.

I had the same thing with both of my pregnancy it lasted the firtst 7 or 8 weeks, It felt like menstral cramps, I was really worried but everything turned out ok. I was told it was body just going through changes and adjusting to being pregnant. I even had spotting, which ended up being nothing. Everyone reacts differently to pregnancy, stay positive and try not to stress. Good Luck

sure GOD sure. do not anticipate getting the solutions on the internet. each and every being pregnant is diverse. Your health practitioner would opt to do somewhat checks because you've lost children earlier. None of my pregnancies were even remotely an same. With my very last 5 pound toddler, I confirmed nicely at 2 months. With my forst, I wore a length 5 jeans until eventually 7 months. First toddler, no indications. very last toddler morning disease all by.

believe it or not........ your nerves. It could be your nerves. Are you nervous thinking that your going to lose this baby? Just calm down, lay down on your left side, with your feet elevated and take it easy. Good luck
