by vetoing everything congress puts on his desk, because he's mad at us for electing Democrats ?

Not a single veto while Republicans held Congress... and not a signle signature because Democrats now hold Congress..

Now everything is a veto, ...even the bi-partisan bills.

Ironically he "chides" democrats for failing to bring him a budget to approve... as if he's not going to just veto it.

Why then do they go through such great lengths to hide everything ? Why all the stonewalling all the time ?

Seems Bush likes to pretend to be cooperative by offering "off-the-record" "interviews"...but not "under-oath"....

Is this what you call transparent government ?

Right now there are American troops sitting in jail for taking pictures of naked Terrorists (Not that it was o-k) Meanwhile Those High Paid Private soldiers From Black Water who shot and killed 15 UN armed Iraqi men women & children enjoy immunity from any form of prosecution. As a matter of Fact Now Bush gave them a huge contract ,free helicopters and airplanes to fight the war on drugs. Black Water will have access to $billion in un-traceable Drugs & drug money (CASH) and answer directly to Vice President Chene or Bush, Is Black Water connected to Halibertin ? It is no secret that Halibertin has Grossly over charged The American tax Payer on the NO BID contracts from our Gov. This the same Co. that gave Vice President Chene $25,000,000.** When he left Halabertin to be the Vice President, Should they have been given NO-Bid Gov. Contracts? Does this Stink of Corruption to you?

This isn't about conspiracy or even popular vote vs electoral college. When you cast your vote for your candidate of choice. Are you truly happy? Are you casting a vote more for the 'lesser evil'? How often to you feel a candidate you vote for, for any seat truly envisions what you want? **Should the people vote for policy instead of a representative?** Just curious. ^^

We still haven't had our first caucus or primary yet most of what I see centers around a Giuliani/Clinton general election.

It seems to me that both Edwards and Obama could threaten Clinton and that Romney and Thompson are still possibilities. And frankly I wouldn't rule out any other candidate at this stage.

Do we pick nominees based on polls now? Or do we still count the votes in the primaries?

I just think it's way too early to anoint anyone as a nominee.

And what if Hillary Clinton becomes president? Wouldn't be unpatriotic to bash her as well. I often hear Republicans say that we should stick by our president and our country regardless of what's occurring, yet I witness many Republicans bashing Clinton both Bill and Hillary. I am not bashing but this is kind of hypocritical don't you agree?!
Note: This question doesn't apply to all Republicans just the ones who say it's unpatriotic to bash the president.

You're right, the US does maintain its standard of living by monopolizing most of the world's resources, and there is great resentment over that, but it goes much deeper.

Like many on the religious right in the US, militant Muslims have great anxiety over the rapidly increasing secularizing of the world. They see traditional values being abandoned, women forgetting their place, young people having sex outside of marriage, gays being tolerated and even embraced, abortion becoming acceptable, and the love of money taking the place of the love of God. And when they look for the causes of these changes, the most powerful symbols they see are American music, American movies, American television, American attitudes. When they call America "The Great Satan," it's not just rhetoric. Like American fundamentalists, they feel that Satan must be at large in American culture for these things to be happening.

Add to this the forceful removal of Palestinians from their homes by an Israeli governme
