Thompson, by far.
It's still gonna be interesting between him and Rudy though.

Each in his own way has good and bad points. Thompson is lazy and indecisive where McCain has supported the failed Bush Administration on too many things. Rudy was an unpopular mayor of a city and not much else. He is milking 9/11 for all he can get out of it. That will catch up to him and then he's sure to be seen as the charlitan he really is. People don't like Romney because of his liberal stance on issues in the past and the fact he is a Mormon, yet he probably would be one of the best the GOP has to offer. The only other one that might be a half way good president would be Mike Huckabee. Unfortunately there isn't much to select from on the GOP candidates this year. It kind of reminds me of 2004 with the Democrats where there wasn't much there either.

McCain is too supportive of the fiasco some call a war so I think Thompson may have a better chance.

Probably Fred. I like John better, and have for quiet a while, but he pisses off too many of the far righties to get the nomination.
Fred would do an OK job as President. He's a pretty pragmatic guy and that what a good President has to be.

I'd say McCain; he seems to actually take a stand on controversial issues. Fred Thompson reminds me of John Kerry in those regards.
