A bit too late for that I'm afraid, it's been well documented and admitted.
On the other hand, concerning the Ottoman vs Turk argument:
As long as the recognition of the Armenian genocide is directed to the Ottoman Empire and not Turkey, I think everything will be in the proper context.
If I'm not mistaken, a bill was recently introduced to the House to recognize the genocide and it specifically said "Ottoman Empire".

Sadly the people here are mostly brainwashed and you could have phrased your question better like - when will the US, which built its economy on slavery, publicly apologise to Africa and pay reperations? You could go on to mention US support for genocide - Palestine, East Timour, Almost every country in South America. After that how about asking why the US does not apologise for decimating Vietnam (there are still deformed children being born because of the poisons they sprayed everywhere before they left) and how about North Korea? I could go on but it would take hours to type it all - your real quesiton should be this : -
Isn't it ludicrous that the US feels it has the right to denounce any other country for human rights abuses when they are the biggest abusers around and have been for at least the last fifty years???
Of course it isn't really ludicrous it's perfectly normal because they have by far the largest military in the World.

Condemning Turkey for atrocities from 80 years ago is nothing more than Liberal congress poking GWB and our brave soldiers in the eye. This will accomplish nothing more than the Democrats being able to say "see I told you so" when the option of that is becoming more obscure daily. The Turks I pray are savvy enough to respond minimally. Unfortunately they may close down the Major thoroughfare for supplies to our troops and or destabilize the MOST STABLE part of Iraq with skirmishes with the Kurds. Thanks to Palosi and company. A win in Iraq is most definitely a loss for the Democrats! and they know it but will NEVER acknowledge it.

Nope, it has already been acknowledged several G7 summits ago.
Isn't allowing them to deny a historical event being a little too "PC"?
If the Ottoman empire is gone, then the turks have nothing to get riled about huh??!

Puerto Rico had a plebiscite some years in the past, and its voters VOTED to stay as a US territory. they could easily vote for independence any time they wanted, and the U. S. could be happy to furnish it. PR could then lose it status as a territory. Its voters could no longer carry US passports. Its voters could lose the U. S. federal tax breaks and grants you they savor. A determination of what to do with PR voters legally interior the U.
