hotpepper...even the real estate market doesnt think that red states are worth much. I could buy a ton of land in a red state for the same I'd have to pay for a 1 bedroom crib in the bronx

Schmorge, they really are. I have a friend in such a state, who has a Masters degree. Even he was brainwashed into thinking the terrorists would hit his hood

A lot of people here in the fly over states getting defensive....but none of them answered the Q
The question was, why is it that the red staters scream about it the most.
Fox news is THE news station that keeps you informed on terrorism..thats why its so popular in nyc...wait a minute... LOL

I live in a red state and I would never vote for a Bush ever. I have many friends that would never vote for a Republican. I would however if education, health care, working with, not against other nations for a safer world and the environment, were the issues they cared about. I don't like the Republicans trying to use fear to get me to do what they want and 911 is just a fear card that they play for their own agendas

Well I am from Iowa and I don't think I know more than NY'ers in general but then again I don't think NY'ers know more than me. Just because terrorists attacked NY doesn't make you anymore knowledgeable about the subject then me. Here is a thought though........why wouldn't terrorist attack a "fly over red state" lets say IA for example. The damage wouldn't be as bad or cost as much but it would certainly send the message that nobody is safe, because if they are willing to attack small town America they will attack anywhere.

I don't hear anyone screaming about terrorism other than people who believe it is not a real threat.
I live in Virginia. A Southern "Red" State. Although it has turned "Blue" since the Governor is a Democrat and several seats are too.
I was in D.C. on 9/11. I saw the Pentagon attacked.
Where were you?

I think the people who live in Red State Virginia where the Pentagon is located have a pretty good idea.

I worry about the nation as a whole, not as a section. Do I really believe we'll be attacked in Iowa or Idaho. If we don't close our borders, we can be attacked anywhere. Do you really think just because NY is bigger that it's the only possible target.
The midwest has plenty that it offers the nation. Produce, livestock. New York is crime, slums, smog, dirty...
Are you calling us fly-over states because you don't think they're worth stopping in? You should pull your ignorant head out of your ***.

Maybe they are concerned for those in California, Washington, and the East Coast? If terrorists did attack in Idaho or Iowa would you really care?
Schmorgen - is this what you were told about those in Idaho or Iowa, or have you been there to see for yourself?

How patronizing of you to use the term "fly over red states". Chicago is in the midwest, and many other cities. There is more than cows and farmers.

Being in a city that is likely to get attacked doesnt mean you know more about terrorism. There are an aweful lot of people living in big cities that clearly do not know a thing about what terrorists will do or why they do it or how to address it.

All Americans should care about terrorism. I don't understand why you think others shouldn't. Is partying more important to you.
