Is this a valid position or an assumption based on arrogance?

Would the U.S. ever let any other nation of the world tell us how to be?

Why is it then that we have this authority?

Shouldn't we fix all of our own countries problems before we tell the rest of the world how to be??

Dan W: Your very last sentence; At least that's an honest answer and perhaps the Bush administration could be respected a bit more if they were as honest about it!
Is this what our military is for? Is economic advancement and control and security worth the lives of American servicemen and women?
I mistakenly thought the military was supposed to be used to defend this nation against "Imminent threat"?
But what do I know?!
At least your honest!

We aren't. Nations pretty much do as they please. We do take care of our national interests when nations such as North Korea practice sending long range missiles in our general direction. Look for us to mess with their sovereignty next time they point one of those at Hawaii.

We've shelled out enough aid money to damn near every country in the world that we should have some say in world affairs. And not only that, but there isn't another country on the face of the planet that would bother to ask permission to defend itself the way we seem to have to ask permission to defend ourselves.

Funny how the UN has no problem asking us to bankroll every little war they want to whip up, but the minute America has a problem, they call us arrogant and vicious.

An assumption based on arrogance, my @ss. It's a simple matter of economics, my dear.

EDIT: How do you know Iraq wasn't posing an "imminent threat?" Are you privy to top secret info the rest of us don't get to see?

Because we (NOT WE THE PEOPLE)-the Govt are 'in' with the FedRes who have influences. Who is behind and why have we(the Govt) overthrown 50 Democratic nations?
I'm starting to wonder with we(the Govts) torture camps, what the plans are for the 800+ 'detainee' camps their offspringKBR built across the States.
Who will they consider 'targets' when as of now anyone voicing an adverse opinion on the 'war' can get on the F BI Driminal DataBase/

Your opinion is based on what the USA used to be. Many people wanted to be friendly because of what we stood for.
Bush has disgraced the USA and what it stands for.
Now many countries have a very different opinion on our authority.

Since the think tanks haven't done much for Bush I suppose now he is trying out advance tactics with countries like Pakistan who we are friendly with.
This way he can see in real time how difficult its going to be for him.

You see it is like an old Western movie. We are the guys in the white hats, the good guys, and others wear black hats, they are the bad guys. The good guys must always prevail. With a cowboy in the White House, one with an itchy trigger finger, there must be no other reason. Considering that cowboy is also arrogan as well as a liar, corrupt, incompetent and greedy it is easy to see how our nation is perceived that way.

I think this country is fine. Right now we are not meddling in the afairs of Pakistan, encouraging the Iraqi to stand on their own, and Afghanistan already has. Just for fun I would like to see the local or federal legislative congress approve everything everyone in here has asked them to do. Everybody regardless of party. THAT would be chaos.

The US is merely an instrument of the Zionist one world rule- they attack those who don't yield to the Zionist banking system, The three Zionist 'powers' in the world i.e. The US , UK and Israel are all criminal outlaw entities.

That is the assumption of the Bush regime--but is it valid:NO.

The US has no busininess trying to tell other nations how to run their affairs. A point of view shared by most Americans--which is why the "neoconservatives" are overwhelming rejectd now by the American people.

It is a bit wrong.. France and Britian along with many other nations have a lot of sway in the world.. you just never get to hear about them.
