Some say its for the " war on terror." Some say its over oil, Alan Greenspan in particular. Some think September 11th provoked it. Others say this war was planned even before 2001. We were discussing this in class the last week. What do you think?

Why do I admire the illegal immigrants?

Let’s take the typical scenario. A young man in Mexico or some other Latin American country has a wife and child—but there is little work and no chance to better himself. So he heads for the US. He commits a civil violation (which is like a parking ticket) by sneaking across the border—sometimes risking his life and walking miles across a scorching desert. He lives on nothing, sharing a bedroom in n overcrowded house—so he can send money back to his family and save enough to bring them to America-where his kid can get decent medical care and a decent education—and a chance at a better life.

This is what the right-wing bigots revile and sneer at. Well—this man—and millions like him—are HEROS. I admire them.

I keep hearing on this forum so many people accusing the poor and struggling even those who DO work of just not trying hard enough?

Isn't that just empty propaganda of the fortunate who didn't really have to overcome many of the trials of life that some endure?

Besides doesn't everyone have a different 'gauge' of success and having a life of value?

Let's remind them who the boss is!

American citizens have given their lives to give us all the power to hold our representatives accountable for their deeds and misdeeds!!!

If you are proud to be an American citizen PLEASE use the power you have been given and VOTE!!!

Our government's doing things in ALL OF OUR NAMES!! If your not happy with what they are doing then tell them!!

On what Iraqi's want in their country? Should people with absolutely NO EXPERIANCE, who have never spoken to an Iraqi, be able to talk about whether Iraqi's like or dislike Americans, Want Democracy or Want Saddam back?

I feel like this is equal to me walking into an operating room and telling the surgeon whether his patient wants him to cut here or snip there, do this or do that.

I have no experience in surgery and I have never spoken to that patient so how could I possibly be qualified to comment on the situation?

Again, this is not a freedom of speech issue, I understand everyone has he right to free speech and I am not trying to obstruct that. I am simply asking if people who are unqualified and have no real world experiences in a matter should have value placed on their opinion.

What do you think?

Did you know that we could never fight a war without the chemicals now being made in China, a communist country that would never support us in time of conflict? The reason for closing the chemical plants is China has almost no pollution laws. Now they have 7 of the 10 most air polluted cities on earth? The chemical plants have destroyed the biggest lake around Shanghai (see the article below) This situation has put many of our chemists out of work, and weakened the US' ability to defend itself, and yet our government seems to be encouraging it? Would you all please remember the plight of the chemists in this country, and the millions of people suffering in China, when you vote in the next election?
