9/11, 9/11, 9/11!

Did I mention 9/11?

Even before 9/11, Rudy did a very good job running the city. He repaired a lot of the damage caused by Dinkins' administration, arguably the worst in NYC's history. He restored Times Square by removing the smut (porn shops, hookers), allowing Disney to invest heavily. Violent crime was reduced by nearly 70%; some of the worst neighborhoods became liveable again. He brought fiscal responsibility back to City Hall. He successfully challenged the Mafia, union bosses, and the Press.

Is he perfect? Hell no. He doesn't deal with opposition well, gets involved with shady characters, and let the police use excessive force unchecked. But I think his accomplishments far outweigh his mistakes.

I take it you don't believe gays should have rights and guns should be kept out of the hands of recidivists.

As for the firefighters, a VAST majority support Rudy. The MSNBC article you posted even quotes retired firefighter Lee Ielpi who wrote, "There is no one who respects firefighters and first responders more than Rudy Giuliani." He further calls the letter by the IAFF "offensive and inaccurate."

The head of the Firefighters Union, who supposedly represents all NYC firefighters, endorsed John Kerry (mentioned in the article), and openly campaigns for Queen Hillary (not mentioned in the article).

As for dressing in drag, he did it like ten years ago, as a gag, at a press dinner. It shows he can make fun of himself every so often. Don't believe everything you see on youtube.

Hey Chi, I have an honest question being asked out of genuine interest.

I've seen you make comments implying you're not for Hillary and I'm taking this question as being against Rudy.

Who are you hoping get's the nominations from both parties?

What if Rudy and Hillary get them?

I like the gay rights part. Why shouldn't gays get equal rights?

For the rest, Rudy is far too ignorant to be president. Aside from Thompson, who's a real ignoramus, Giuliani is probably the least-well-informed person running for office. Oh, and 911 911 911.

Giuliani was the mayor of NYC. Americans should listen to New Yorkers when we tell you: we experienced this man's rule. He's a thug. Avoid.

Electability.

Conservatives are extremely afraid of Hillary Clinton becoming President, just like Liberals were so afraid of Bush getting another four years in 2004. So, like Democrats picked Kerry over Dean for supposed electability they may pick Giuliani for the same reason. But a completely negative anti-opposition campaign didn't defeat Bush in 2004 and I doubt it will defeat Hillary in 2008. You have to give your side and moderates more reason to vote for your candidate rather than just why to vote against the opposition.

I'm NOT a Guillani supporter. BUT: I like the fact that he stood up to the five families in NY. He had courage during 9/11, and he is an honest man to have gone ahead and divorced his ex to marry the woman he feel in love with, unlike Hillery who cut a deal with her president husband to stay married so SHE could run for President!

I ;ove Chinese fireworks too!

Yes, but not Fear.

What you call "Fear", I call Common Sense.

I am not strong on Rudy.
But I try to be honest with myself.
He never abandoned anyone.
But Democrats have Abandoned the USA.

I consider Rudy a "last resort" as compared to a Communist Democrat.
(Which will be Hillary.)
Who is less of a Communist than the other Democrats.
GO HILLARY!!!!!
(But I will vote for Rudy instead of "her/him".)

Actual working experience outside of politics at a time when we really need fiscal responsibility. Compared to most politicians a no-nonsense guy, you may not agree with him but he says what he means and stands by it so you know what you are getting vs. a "you'll get healthcare, a cow in every yard" (this week, next week who knows) approach the Dems take and they get in office and don't deliver. (sounds like Congress, what have the Dems done they promised they'd do?)

You and Kieth Oberman should hide under your bed together. Ohhh politics of fear, are you seriously that on edge to allow someone to scare you with a statement? Decaf bro.

Like many republicans, he has plenty to stand on: illegitimate money and the backs of the oppressed. Unfortunately, the same can be said of the shrew.
