Seriously. How many people here think the end of the world will happen within their lifetime?

John Hagee, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, and a huge chunk of the christian right are always talking about how the end of the world is near (that it's already begun) and that Jesus is coming to save them.

Do you believe this despite the fact that numerous christian pundits of the past also predicted the end of the world within their lifetimes and were proven wrong?

Doesn't this end of world talk ever get old?

TRAITOR TEST: Conservatives and liberals, are we all in unison on these 3 things?

1- Despite our many problems, the U.S.A. is a great nation. (You can disagree with the politics, people, leasders, places in this country)

2-Islamofascism is a real threat to America and the world. Capitulating to it, waving the white flag and saying that we don’t need to have a war on terrorism to combat their radical ideology is dangerous. They won’t back down whether we’re fighting a war on terrorism or not. (It's alright to disagree with the strategies used to combat Islamofascsim)

3- The borders must be tightly sealed from the threats of terrorism, drug or human smuggling, and illegal criminals who might come here to commit more crime and abuse our systems.

These issues that I’ve just mentioned aren’t liberal vs. conservative. They’re AMERICAN ISSUES!
It just so happens that for the most part, the conservatives have been the people to address these problems with aggressive and good solutions.

Who else is sick of biased polls being reported all over the media reguarding presidential candidates?

Who here, like me, thinks No Child Left Behind is an abyssmal failure?

For the last thirty years, U.S. schools haven't been instilling many students with the basic math, writing, and reading abilities they need to succeed in our world. We obviously score below the rest of the industrialized world in math and science.

Oh sure, it might be helping "poor" schools bring up their test scores. But really, their not an honest, holistic assessment of students' analytical capabilities. I'm not against testing, per se. But, NCLB forces teachers to teach kids to know how to handle the test; NCLB hurts teachers even more from developing and strengthing the intellectual abilities of their students. The VAST majority of my new college classmates still DID NOT feel prepared for college at all! States and localities have had reductions in their control over schools; there is now so much federal oversight. Lastly, math, science, and reading: compared to the rest of the world, we're still suckin' and not getting much better!

Teachers and fellow conservatives: Agreed?
