Gee, I don't know...Wouldn't that violate the "Free Exercise" clause of the Constitution? I know it would make the US a paradise and all, but maybe for once Democrats should just have to live within the law of the land.

Actually, I'm a liberal and a Deist, and I have no problem with politicians who believe in God just as long as they don't support legislation showing favoritism towards their beliefs over all others, since such legislation would be unconstitutional.

No. I think that having religion says a lot about someone. Positive things, generally. It would be hard for me to vote for an atheist.
However, I think this country was founded on freedom of religion, which means that they should not impose their religious ideals onto citizens.

No. All politicians should just abide by the Constitution, no matter their personal religious beliefs.

I'm atheist and I don't need politicians to be atheists too. They just need to keep religion and government seperate.
Do not use tax payer money to promote one religion over another. It only leads to problems.

To satisfy conservatives, should all politicians swear allegiance to Jesus on their knees before Pat Robertson

The men who rote OUR CONSTITUTION were CHRISTIANS. That is why we have In God We Trust on our money. Federal and State Buildings. Our fore Fathers created this great country on Christian beliefs. I do not think we can divide church and state and still have a chance to be a Great Nation. The majority should rule! That is the Christians who believe in God.

As far as I'm concerned, atheism is a religion, too.

A person's personal religious beliefs should NEVER matter. Only the issues. (Personally, I think that atheists and bible thumpers are equally bad leaders, but that's just my opinion)

No but I think that they should not use their power to push their religion on others.
