Depends on how you want to look at it. During the reign of the Emperors, their human rights record, under some was absolutely horrible.

Today, all the claims of China's horrible human rights records comes from 3rd or 4th parties, not so much from people who have witnessed it. I learned to regard the 3rd and 4th party as suspect, especially in the wake of the war in Iraq that was helped along by the lies the ex pats from Iraq were telling. Plus, anti China and the human rights watch groups depend on donations to survive. Keeping up the status quo and the common belief that China is horrible to its people helps drives donations. My question about these organizations, is two fold. How much is going for education vs administrative costs, and how much are the CEO's making. Yet we believe pretty much verbatim what they say.

I'd say it is England, based on modern past history (last 200 years) I'd say is worse. Considering they addicted 90% of the males under 40 in the coastal areas of China by the 1850's with the uncontrolled and illegal import of opium which resulted in three wars, taking over the country by the barrel of a gun, treating the Chinese as if they didn't exist ---------and that is only about China. What about all the other colonies that England had scattered around the world where the same thing was happening.

However, I am certainly not going to put China above the fold. But in China's case, it was against its own people, in England's case, it was against the world.

Peace

Jim

Well, let's be honest with ourselves here. Every civilization, over the course of history, has had some flaws in their records of human rights.

Remember:
A. Egypt, appx. 3,000 years ago. The long suffering and enslavement of Hebrew Jews in building pyramids and temples for the pharaohs.
B. Roman Empire, appx. 2,000 years ago. Nero toward Christians. Enough said.
C. Holy Wars, 1000-1200 AD or so. Christians brually persecuting Muslims in the modern day Middle East.
D. British Empire, 1400-1990 AD. The enslavement and sale of Africans, murder of Native Americans, and brutal persecution of a majority black population in modern-day South Africa.
E. United States: the displacement and brutal murder (through spread of disease and in battle) of Native Americans, as well as the 33,000,000 babies Roe v. Wade has allowed to be brutally aborted alive since 1973.
F. Soviet Union: Stalin was estimated to have killed 20,000,000 Soviet people because of his paranoia and egomanical desire to create a purely, well, Stalinist state.
G. Germany: the Third Reich!
H. China: even today, if you disagree with the government even today, you commit "treason" and it is a crime punishable by death.
I: Cambodia: remember the killing fields of the 1970s?

since did human rights come from the East? Empires do -but 'rights' are OF THE WEST- which is why we must defend them against the Zionists.

England, in the days of its colonial imperialism committed numerous horrific atrocities.

Many of the effects of those are still being seen today.

England would purposely import people from opposing cultures and lands to live in their colonies. That way the natives fight with each other...not the person keeping them in squalor. Hey...that sounds famililar !

GERMANY wins this contest! 6 million dead jews, the deaths of tens of millions, and half of Europe laying in rubble during World War II earns them top honors as the country with the official WORST human rights record!

(and yet I am getting thumbs down for saying so! go figure!)
