Improving the appalling state of US education for starters.
America ranks behind 16 third world countries in literacy standards and for a developed nation a staggeringly low level of tertiary education.

The outlay for what can only be described as a war for profit at the expense of future generations must surely disgust most US citizens.

I shall stand by for the abuse from certain quarters...

It seems as though politics is quite a volatile topic here (with good reason), for liberals, conservatives, and everyone in between. I'm just wondering how many of you feel as strongly about your convictions when applied to your personal life.

Answering honestly, do you think you could do it? Which issues do you foresee that you MUST agree upon, and which are you willing to leave alone? To what extent must your political views match?

BAGHDAD, Sept. 25 — Sunni extremists appear to have begun a systematic campaign to assassinate police chiefs, police officers and other Interior Ministry officials throughout Iraq, with at least 10 attacks in the last 48 hours...“The main reason behind all these attacks is the signs of improvement of the security situation mentioned in the Crocker-Petreus report,” said Tahseen al-Sheikhly, a spokesman for the Iraqi security forces"

on taxation for its revenues?
Consider the problems in the middle east. Oil rich countries get their revenues by selling oil. In those countries, the government doesn't need a thriving economy to tax the incomes of its people.
Since they pump their money out of the ground, they need not educate their people. They need not to build an infrastructure to encourage business growth. They don't need more jobs for an expanding population. They don't need a strong manufacturing base to compete on the international market.
All they need is oil pumps and pipelines.
In such countries, where would the common person direct his or her frustration over such a disconnect?
When there are two children in a family and one gets all the attention from the parent while the other is ignored, does the ignored child blame the parent or the other sibling for the lack of attention?

Good for them.

Any ways... is it A,B,C,D, or E?

In March 2005 the Coalition of Immokalee Workers pressured Yum!, a company selling agricultural goods to businesses such as Taco Bell to increase worker’ wages. Workers were given 40 cents per 32 pound bucket of tomatoes. These wages are the same as they were 30 years ago. Many workers were incarcerated, and beaten. The CIW was able to free 1,000 workers by forcing an increase in wages and rewriting the terms of slavery in Yum!’s supplier code of conduct.

Everytime somebody disagrees with Bush or America's foreign policy they are quick to label that person anti-American and pro-terrorist.

Let me ask you this cons:

Supposedly the government can't do anything right, so why is it you seem to believe our government's foreign policy is always right?

I am just curious as to how you determine that a whole group in society is evil or that you hate a whole group of people without knowing them? I slam Bush and some others on here, but I also have a lot of friends and a family that is mostly conservative. I would love to know how the people on here who say all liberals or all conservatives are destroying America came to that conclusion?

First it was 20 million, then 50 million, then 300 million, and now according to some con in the "billions."

Considering the flurry of scandals over the past few years? I am not even syaing that Dems have not had scandals too, but we don't pretend like we are in some way morally superior. It just looks ridiculous when you have had scandal after scandal and continue to say that you are morally superior to Democrats.

I bet liberal cities in the U.S. are on Iran's list of U.S. cities to smuggle nukes into.

1) Iran hates godless people the most.
2) Iran hates people that support gay marriages. Iran thinks allowing gay marriage is the same as allowing people and animals to marry.
3) Iran hates people that have out of wedlock childbirths.
4) Iran hates people that want to legalize drugs or who use drugs.
5) Iran hates people that abort babies.

etc, etc, etc,,

Ahmadinejad is anti-gays and Jews - that's more like the Republican Party than Democrats. He wants to control Iraq - again, more like Republicans. I can't think of a single reason how he's at all similar to liberals.

I'm not saying Ahmadinejad is like American Republicans/conservatives. The man is a complete psychopath. I just don't understand why conservatives liken him to liberals. Why is that?

Weren't Communists worse than Fascists? Sure, Hitler killed 6 million Jews, but Communists have killed billions. Why is it that Fascism (National Socialism) is seen as the worst ideology instead of Communism (International Socialism)? Isn't Communism the far worse of the 2 versions of Socialism?

Moral Idiocy – Defined as having ones sense of morality lowered due to cultural influence. They are ignorant to what is considered immoral.
(But this is of course compared to what, that which is defined as the norm for the current culture?)

Moral Pessimism – Defined as believing everyone else is doing it so, why does it matter?

Empirical studies often find a general tendency to over-estimate how much other people violate social norms – a bias toward moral pessimism. We show that persistence of this bias causes more people to violate the norm than if the bias were corrected. In addition, this bias increases the probability that behavior will settle into a "bad" equilibrium with many wrongdoers, instead of settling into a “good” one with few wrongdoers.....

- "accusing it of imposing "a 19-year reign of fear"?
how about your killing fields?

- "Americans are outraged by the situation in Burma,"?
so now you want to do something? they have been outraged about Iraq too, did you respond to their concerns?

- "Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, a bitter foe of the United States"?
he is not a bitter foe of anyone. he said he wanted to use nukilar energy for civil use, he has the right to do so. And if he wants nukilar weapons, he should too so that to defend himself from invaders, the destroyers of civilization.

- "Bush urged other nations to support countries that are struggling for democracy."?

US a democracy? not even close. people have the right to choose between clinton and giuliani but they do not have the choice of putting them out there in the first place. they are promoted and brought to the scene by the masonic order.
