I think it is always a mistake when candidates from either party miss an opportunity to discuss issues with groups that may not necessarily support them. There is no way to gain the support of those groups if you are not willing to talk to them.........

It is a tactical decision. Gingrich knows as well as the top Repubs.
that as many as 90% of Blacks will vote the Dem ticket in any
given election.. I know this doesn't make sense. Especially
given the fact that the average Repub is far more friendly toward all minorities than the average Dem. But there you are.
I know cause I'm a Dem, all my 62 years. And this is why I will
not vote for the Dems come 2008 unless they put a candidate up there that is good for all America.

I don't agree with anything that lying cheating man states. He was kicked out of his position as Speaker of The House made to resign. Why, because he was having a affair and yet condemning Clinton on a BJ. That Newt Gingrich is washed up old crazy man, he wants people donate him 30 Million I wouldn't give him one penny, he is washed up old fool, just another sexual affair Republican , the one they voted to take his place Bob Livingston resigned before being sworn in. Why, he had been having a affair for 20 years with a woman in LA. Just a bunch of nothings but liars and hypocrites.. If their trying to have Page boys, men and sometimes women they are so hypocritical no one would look at their crazy as*.

Yes and Jack Kemp was on Smiley last night and voiced the same opinion. "Scheduling conflicts' is a load of BS, this debate was scheduled months ago. This is pandering to the racist element in the republican party, partially in an attempt to garner votes for the early South Carolina primary.

The Republicans, all but Huckabee "declined to participate in the forum citing scheduling conflicts and fundraising pressures." Obviously, fundraising and pandering to money interests are more important to these people than debating issues or gaining the support of black voters. Good for Huckabee and for once, I agree with Gingrich.

Absolutely. Why they have chosen this route I don't understand. Follow Newt. He's looking at a run. He was able as Speaker to get things done, worked well with each aisle and may have a shot. He's got baggage so does Hillbill. I like he and McCain perhaps together. It all keeps changing. One thing for sure no more Clinton's for me. Thanks.
What are they afraid of anyway I wonder?

I think the Republicans have consistently made a mistake by ignoring black voters. The theory is that most blacks are going to vote Democrat anyway. In fact, the Republicans are usally pretty bad about getting out information and showing that they have more to offer blacks than the Democrats.

Gee, now that is 2 things I agree with Newton Leroy Gingrich on. The other is that the Repulicans need to have a health care plan.

Gingrich has a good analytical mind. No one goes around saying Gingrich is stupid. They can only stand to gain votes in that forum.
