Clearly, we can’t agree on the solutions to any problems, but can we even agree on what the problems are?
What, do you think, are the problems facing the US?
And, if you wouldn’t mind, are you Dem, Rep, Misc?

I like Leah's list. I've been a Republican, didn't think they did us too many favors, or kept their campaign promises, then I was a democrat and found the same problems there. I'm thinking they are the same party and they are against us instead of for us, or maybe just for themselves getting richer. Americans have lost the ability to collaborate and compromise, we think we are so staunch in our views and mostly we don't even have half of the truth to be deciding anything on. It seems that people can't put themselves in anyone else's shoes and use that information to come up with ideas that will work for everyone. Immigration is fine, if there is an "illegal" before it, it is against the law, our own politicians can't even agree on that. War makes us more secure? We are creating more terrorists, we won't be able to kill them all before there are more coming after us. Healthcare, well if someone has a job,is healthy and has health insurance, they think you should just do the same as them and then you're doing the right thing. Education, I work in a school people send their kids here to be raised not just taught. What do you do with that??? We need solutions but first we need people capable of making them happen.

Education - too much fluff, not enough facts. Teachers teaching the test instead of actually teaching the course is creating more issues than solving.
Military - a larger war is looming. The draft may be needed once again.
Iraq - If we leave too soon, we create an enemy. Other countries are waiting for us to leave so that they may look like heroes.
Economic - our over-regulating businesses have caused outsourcing to be more than just attractive. That needs to be addressed.
Immigration - The number of legal immigration applicants/accepted citizens should be reviewed. Illegal immigration should be dealt with sharply. If the absence of illegal workers creates a void, our unemployment and welfare should be about eradicated.
Taxes - A reassessment should be done for a more permanent tax break...which ties into:
Government agencies - as a former military member, I understand that if the government does not spend what it projects the numbers get reduced, but most of that spending is wasteful. Agencies should be reviewed in how they do business.
Independent - leaning Republican..

Go and try to get your self a gallon of milk.
Go. It's getting more and more expensive every day.
Why?
The dollar is depreciating due to the runaway spending on the Iraq war and the US deregulation of finances is facilitating the collapse of dollar banking.
Go and try to have a political conversation in the street. This country is more intolerant everyday.
Go to the street. Count the homeless. Go again tomorrow and count again.
Go, try and get sick. I dare you to survive bankruptcy. And that's if you do have insurance.
Your government is using the media to distract you with a bunch of red herrings (illegals, terrorists, communists) and your country is sinking ever faster.... If you care about your country, educate yourself and get rid of the parasites controlling your TV, your government and your work.

In no particular order...
1. National Security - Iraq conflict, borders, terrorism, gun control
2. Immigration
3. Education
4. Health care
5. The economy
6. Infrastructure (bridges, highways...)
7. Crime
8. Drugs
I am generally conservative, but in the last election cycle I voted for a Democrat for House and a Republican for Senate because they were the best people for the job. I do not vote for the party - I vote for the person.

Terrorism and Immigration are the problems in my eyes. I don't think we can pull out of Iraq because a lot of innocent people will get slaughtered and Iraq will become a terrorist haven and eventually coming to America. I think we also need to build that fence to keep out illegal aliens and actually enforce the laws in our country on immigration...holding companies accountible if they hire them. I am a republican by the way...it's pretty obvious...
