I have looked and looked all over the constitution, but I can't anything written that says it is the responsibility of the US government to provide social security, welfare, medicare, or health insurance. Can someone please tell where it might be?

Provide for the general welfare? Does that mean the government should replace my 12 year old Ford Truck because its got over 200,000 miles on it? Shouldn't they make my mortgage payment also? Where does general welfare stop?

The Preamble and Article 1 Section 8 of the constitution.

It's called 'provide for the General Welfare'!

"We the people of the United States, in order to to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE, and secure the blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

Read the preamble. The general welfare clause. While it may not be the responsibility,it is the responsible thing to do.

The constitution says nothing about giving corporations equal standing with citizens, yet we do.
