I think he would have made a good president. He led the South very bravely, and I admire him even though I didn't agree with his side of the war. President Lincoln asked him to be the head of the Union Army, but when Virginia left the Union ang joined the Confederates, he turned down the offer and said he could not betray his home state. I think he would have had the demeanor and the loyalty ro his country that a good president should have.

What happened to all those fired up Dems that were ready to get US troops out of Iraq ASAP? You don't hear a peep from any of them anymore about getting US troops out. Might it be because the neocons have gotten to them?

early 1700s-1890s was banned for treason (don't remember what he did) from u.s. because he said he hoped he never saw or set foot on the u.s. again so they gave him his wish and put him on a ship and he went from ship to ship until he died. I cannot think of his name.

"I disagree with what you have to say but will fight to the death to protect your right to say it." ~ Evelyn Beatrice Hall on Voltaire

(In his A Book of French Quotations (1963), Norbert Guterman suggested that the probable source for the quotation was a line in a 6 February 1770 letter to M. le Riche: ``Monsieur l'abbé, I detest what you write, but I would give my life to make it possible for you to continue to write.'')

I don’t know the research but I give credit to the quotation research source:

As global warming sets in, the polar ice cap is receding fast. Scientists reckon that by the end of the century the entire Arctic Ocean could be open water for the first time since prehistory, uncovering potentially vast reservoirs of oil and natural gas—perhaps a quarter of the world's undiscovered reserves, according to a study from the U.S. Geological Survey.

Is calling a Republican a Neo-Con Like calling a Democrat a Liberal. To some people the term liberal has become a negative and they prefer to be called progressive. Has the term neo-con become the same thing?

Yes, in 2007 many blacks and hispanics have prospered in America, but the mentall, and physical abuse that minorities in this country went through from the late 1600's till the 1960's is still alive and has that effect today, it is time the govermant paid restitution not in checks for every black, but put billions of dollars into the communities, the schools, job creations, etc, just quit dishing out welfare and food stamps and placing them in concentration camps(Ghettos) Wake up white americans, your ancestors did something far woser then Hussein, Hitler, Stalin ever did
