Yes, in 2007 many blacks and hispanics have prospered in America, but the mentall, and physical abuse that minorities in this country went through from the late 1600's till the 1960's is still alive and has that effect today, it is time the govermant paid restitution not in checks for every black, but put billions of dollars into the communities, the schools, job creations, etc, just quit dishing out welfare and food stamps and placing them in concentration camps(Ghettos) Wake up white americans, your ancestors did something far woser then Hussein, Hitler, Stalin ever did

You mean the Hispanics that wiped out the incredible Mayan and Incan civilizations? The Hispanics that enslaved the native people of Mexico and south America? Slaves that were still held in a form of bondage into the 20th century and are essentially 'untouchables' today? Those Hispanics? Poor babies.

Then there's the blacks. Have you noticed that Africa today is one of the most brutal and murderous places on the face of the Earth? A place where being hacked to death with a machete or an infant being raped by a guy with AIDS because of his voodoo beliefs is common? Do you think it was a paradise back in the 17th and 18th centuries? How do you think those slaves were 'rounded up'? One tribe would raid another and the few that weren't hacked to death were sold to the highest bidder. Then, of course, there are the African kings who, even late into the 19th century, used to impale political rivals by driving poles into their anus so that they died slowly as the pole worked it's way, through pressure, up into their body cavity? Punishment worthy of our most gruesome horror fiction was a reality in Africa. Sounds strange, but given that environment, even slavery in the U.S. sounds like a better alternative. Ask the most impoverished and self described 'oppressed' African American if they'd like to be returned to their homeland. I think the answer will say it all.

So stop your whining. The Hispanics and blacks are far from being the world's biggest 'victims'. Both cultures were and in some cases are the world's most murderously oppressive on the face of the Earth. So get the heck over it and your revisionist history.

First of all, my ancestors did nothing to the black or hispanics. I am Irish and my ancestors have been persecuted since the 11th century. Still persecuted going into the 21th century. When the Irsh came to America they were treated far worse. Look up "racism" The founder of the NAACP, DuBois, talks about how the Irsih were also slaves. A quote; "Six years earlier Oliver Cromwell and his 20,000 man army invaded Ireland. They killed the entire garrison of Drogheda and slaughtered all the townspeople. Afterwards, Cromwell said "I do not think thirty of the whole number escaped with their lives. Those that did are in safe custody for the Barbados." I am so sick of you people, Yes, "You people" crying about how you are so persecuted. Whats the matter are you too stupid to go out and get a job? We pour money into the hood to clean it up for "you people" and two years later in looks the same as it did before. As long as people continue to blame every other race but their own on their problems and continue to duck responsibility for their own actions they will continue to live in poverty. While there certainly were some issues in the past with so-called white America, it is also true that the White race has done more than any other group of people in history to right that wrong, as long as people use this crutch, these problems will perpetuate themselves. Fact, Black men are the leading cause of death amoung Black men in America. Fact, Hispanic Men are the leading cause of death of Hispanic men in America. Not the whites, greens, yellow or other color. Stop playing the blame game. there are more programs, money, education programs, social safety nets and dollars for minorities in the United States and Canada then the rest of the world combined. You are either living in the solution or living in the problem. Its time political correctness was trumped by truth and common sense. This is not to say there are not groups that are racist and criminals, they need to be reigned in for sure. But there has been more reverse discrimination then anything. If anything White people need to stand up and stop being the whipping boy for all the worlds ills. Quit playing the race card when its convenient people. There have been more incidents of non-white on white violence in the last 30 years then the other way around, yet, we are afraid to say anything, and afraid to say whats really going on. Enough....

It sounds like the typical black or hispanic solution. Put more money into our communities.

If we did that today, most of it would disappear before it ever got to building schools, hospitals etc. It would be ripped off and put into more drug money and every other vice that is currently going on in the "ghetto".

The balck man will forever fall back on the mistakes of the past of the white man (slavery) instead of establishing community efforts within the back/hispanic communities and helping to solve their own problems. First have the community assume some responsiblity by getting rid of drugs. Second get fathers responsible for the children they bring into this world. Third establish businesses that can complete with the low cost manufacturers in China within the ghetto. Okay at first one might not get paid $20-$30 per hour but they would establish a middle class within those communities and begin the building of a sense of worth. It appears every program that has been tried within the "ghetto" has failed because the community leaders are like most folks with power, they think of their pockets first and by the time they have taken their percentage off the top there is very little left to do the work. Until you get leaders with integrity in those communities, who can be looked up to and who will galvanize the community to do the right thing and to work together to rise above the current norm, then you will always be ine the depths of dispare.

I don't think that you will find too many ppl will say that slavery was terrible and wrong. It is wrong for one to posses another human being, but know this, it is still being done today, in the blacks native country of Africa. Had it not been for Tribes there hunting down the weaker tribes and taking them for slaves to their own kind. This is another fact that you need to know, It was not the Americans who went to Africa to hunt and gather the blacks from the jungles, it was the French who saw this and started slavery in their own country, then Frenchman said on lets take some to the Americas, and so the French man did. But it has now been over 30 years, and it is still being harped on, and White America is still being blamed because some blacks can't get ahead. Well in today's world, IT IS YOUR OWN CHOICE AS TO WHAT YOU ARE AND WANT TO BE....THERE ARE MANY GRANTS OUT THERE FOR ANY MINORTY TO ATTEND COLLEGE.
