I think he would have made a good president. He led the South very bravely, and I admire him even though I didn't agree with his side of the war. President Lincoln asked him to be the head of the Union Army, but when Virginia left the Union ang joined the Confederates, he turned down the offer and said he could not betray his home state. I think he would have had the demeanor and the loyalty ro his country that a good president should have.

No, for the reason you stated. I admire Lee I think he was truly a great man but as president you have to represent the whole nation not just your state. Lee in my opinion loved Virginia to much to able to care for the whole nation. For that reason I feel he would have been a great Senator, or Representative.

I think so. He was proud of his home state. Many historians have agreed if Robert E. Lee was on the Union side, the war would've lasted 2 weeks. Too bad we didn't have someone like him to lead the war on terror.

I'm afraid not. He was too much of a "Gentleman". And if you understand ANYTHING about the nature of the people who run this Country- you would realise that Washington D.C. is NO PLACE- for gentlemen... :(
