I see alot of ignorant statements on here, such as democrats are communists or socialists. (WMDs) Do you think the people that say this are so stupid they actually believe it, or are they just trying to be annoying?

The First Amendment gives us Freedom of Religion. That means ANY religion. Or NONE!

The First Commandment says that one may not have an y other God buy Yahweh. That rules out Hindus and Buddhists. Maybe even agnostics.

We cannot have both the First Amendment and the First Commandment backed by force of law. One msut give way to the other. So which will it be?

If you pick the First Amendment, aren't you being disloyal to God and disobeying his orders? The Bible tells yoiu what to do with "idol worshippers" and unbelievers, and it's not nice. And you can no longer claim that the Government, the Constitution, or the laws are based on the Commandments or the Bible.

If you choose the First Commandment, that destropys the Freedom that America was founded to have, and makes this a Theocracy. ("The worst type of government."-- C.S. Lewis) AND you are unpatriotic.

So pick one.

say that they want government to have as little influence on peoples lives, yet they insist on putting up MORE security cameras, listening in on people, and monitoring everything. its not like i would do something horribly evil, but it doesn't make sense with what they're saying. its just a never ending string of lies.

(Why do they call the Democrats the "tax and spend" party?

The Democrat Controlled Congress with the 13% approval rating is doing what democrats do best; take your money!

"Unfortunately, Democrats have approved a budget that fails to extend the bulk of the 2001 and 2003 tax relief — most of which is set to expire in the next few years — resulting in a staggering tax hike of at least $736 billion. Most notably, the Democrats’ budget fails to extend the lower tax rate on capital gains and dividends and most of the income tax relief we’ve passed, the two provisions that have done the most to spur the strong economic growth of the past several years. In addition to this massive tax hike, Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee are also proposing another growth-stifling tax hike to pay for alternative minimum tax relief, this one a 4 percent tax hike on higher income Americans and small business owners."

The whole idea of wealth transfer seems so without merit and at least to me, repulsive by it's very definition. Now that I have worked my a$$ off and served my country in the Marines, received a B.S. degree and worked in my profession for quite a few years and am finally making some good money I really would liek to keep more of it to spend how I see fit, not transfer it to other people that chose a different path than me. Why can't the libs support my effort to keep more of our own money?

Is it just pure laziness, or lack of knowledge, or do they feel like they really can't make a difference!!!!! There is almost nothing I hate more then talking to someone who complains all the time about how things are, but don't even go out and vote for those people that can change how things are, and who really will make a difference.

The United States is not now, nor is it likely to be, socialist any time in the foreseeable future.

The Democratic Party is frequently accused of pursuing a "socialist agenda" but this just isn't so. They aren't a Socialist Party. Certainly not like the actual Socialist Parties of Western Europe.

Several times I've seen the assertions that "socialism doesn't work" and "every place it's been tried, it failed". Well, these same Western European countries that have been ruled by Socialist Parties would disagree with these assertions.

So would any objective analyst.

Can it be that some people use the word "socialist" as a catchall term meaning "anything I don't like" --?

If someone asks you, "Have you ever done cocaine?", if the truth is No, then you say "No".

If the truth is Yes, but you can't get yourself to admit it, and you're afraid to tell a bald-faced lie, you take issue with the question even being asked. You say, "I'm not going to play that political game." and refuse to answer. That's exactly what Bush did.

What's so hard about saying, "I never did cocaine"? Bush can't seem to.

Additional evidence: Bush, while in the Air National Guard, put himself on the Voluntary N0-Fly List the night before a mandatory drug test. This meant he wouldn't have to take the test.

Put the puzzle pieces together, people!

What are the distinctions? How badly misrepresented are most Republicans by the neo-cons and fundies/fanatics?

2007-07-30 08:10:20 · 16 answers · asked by Dr Jello 7

NO. Here's why:

1) We've made it clear that we won't feel right about leaving Iraq until there's civil order in the country. Al Qaeda responds by instigating conflict between Shiite and Sunni that keeps us there. How does this serve the alleged objective of driving us out?

2) Bin Laden's plan is called 'Bleed to Bankruptcy". He feels he siuccessfully used it against the Soviet Union, and it was his design to get us bogged down in a Middle Eastern war, spending tons of money until we collapse as well. We're playing into his hands.

3) Our presence in Iraq is the #1 recruiting inducement for Al Qaeda.

Given that Al Qaeda wants us in Iraq, and it benefits them, the best thing we could do to foil them is to leave. Only Iraqis can bring order to Iraq. Our presence is counterproductive.
