Supposedly they were flown out of the country when nobody else could fly, not even Bushs daddy and mama. The Bin Ladens weren't even held for questioning. Is this true? Does anybody have links.

Conservatives believe cutting taxes and deregulating is better for the economy THEN shifting taxes to the rich and increasing social spending to help the American people. In fact, they believe social spending leads to recessions and deficits.

HOWEVER, when you look at historical economic data, the opposite happens. Keynesian economics is superior to supply side economics the vast majority of time.

This is what I think:

It is an EXPLANATION when you explain how Keynesian economic theory works most of the time. It is an EXCUSE when cons have to explain how their theories about economics don't work most of the time.

Look at the mess we've made.
No matter when we pull out, it will get worse. So are we prepared to stay there forever?

The Washington Post says that lack of post 9-11 terrorist attack, a strong economy and the war in Iraq looking like it is on course to a successful outcome (Their words, not mine but I am optimistic their assertion is correct) means the Bush presidency will go down in history as successful.

In his day, Lincoln's presidency was considered by many to be a terrible national mistake yet now we have a huge monument to his memory in Washington. WIll it bother today's far-left to think a similar monument will ever be made to President Bush in 100 years for his actions during his presidency?

PLEASE....Only answers from thinkers and not koolaid drinkers on the left OR right. Also no answers saying Bush is dumb, etc. unless you are a graduate from Harvard or Yale. If you are so much smarter than him, why aren't you the president?

1. Businesses - whose primary function is to make a BIG profit for their stockholders such that the price of stock increases.
2. Government - which increases and decreases funding whenever the parties in control change?

And don't say everybody should pay their own - most Americans cannot cover cancer treatments out of their pocket. It wouldn't work.

The Prince of Peace clearly explains that war is a sin and not the road to HIM. It is liberals and not conservatives that do HIS work and call for peace among all nations, yet many conservatives demand to indulge in the sin of war, yet they invoke HIS name.

Why the HYPOCRISY?

Let's not have any prayers in the U.S. House or Senate. America does not need a debate over whose prayer or what prayer is appropriate in the people's house: Congress. Why?

The founders of America deliberately made this country's foundation with religious-neutral bricks, cemented together with a mixture of sweat, blood, and tears that had origins in Old World religious wars and persecution; and the forefathers determined that "It won't happen in America." These 20th and 21st century persistent efforts by many U.S. citizens to turn religious-neutral- politics into politico-religious- politics should stop.

The daily said in an editorial that the September 11 terrorist attack in 2001 was made under suspicious circumstances for which Ben Laden was held responsible, but, political observers were aware of the fact that Ben Laden had connections with the US where he had undergone training arranged by the Central Intelligence Agency.

"The CIA had helped Ben Laden organize Taliban in Afghanistan and it was clear that Ben Laden's possible involvement in twin towers terrorist attack could not be successful in the absence of coordination with the neo-conservative war mongers in the White House."

The events which took place in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks in the United States helped raise the theory of complicity of the White House in the twin towers explosion, the editorial said.

Will there be dancing in the streets the day Bushco leaves the White House? Will the American people breath a collective sigh of relief and say, "thank God that's over!"? Will the rest of the world for that matter?

a lot more Americans use the Canadian system than the number of Canadians who use the American system?
The number of Americans who go to Canada to buy prescription medicine far outnumbers the Canadians who come to the states for surgery or testing.
If the Canadian healthcare system is so bad, why are so many Americans taking advantage of it?

How can Cons defend this guy???

Doug Thompson writes for the conservative Capitol Hill Blue:

GOP leaders told Bush that his hardcore push to renew the more onerous provisions of the [Patriot] act could further alienate conservatives still mad at the President from his botched attempt to nominate White House Counsel Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.

“I don’t give a goddamn,” Bush retorted. “I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way.”

“Mr. President,” one aide in the meeting said. “There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution.”

“Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” Bush screamed back. “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!”

I’ve talked to three people present for the meeting that day and they all confirm that the President of the United States called the Constitution “a goddamned piece of paper.”

Your thoughts.

WASHINGTON -- There is some very good news in the battle to slay the budget deficit. It is being cut in half well ahead of forecasts, offering fresh evidence that reducing federal tax rates does not undermine government revenues. The Bush administration has a lot of problems on its plate, both foreign and domestic, but the budget deficit is not one of them. This is one area where President Bush's policies have been a resounding success, though don't expect to see this reported on the nightly network news shows.

The Office of Management and Budget announced last week that the annual deficit, estimated at $400 billion just a few years ago, will be $205 billion by the end of this fiscal year (which ends in September).

From the IRS site on Estate tax:
On one hand, they say that everyone should be given an equal playing field to prove their worth, then on the other hand they think that millionaires shouldn't be taxed when they leave millions of dollars to their kids. They even have the nerve to lie to the American public and make it look like it will affect people who aren't millionaires.

To reemphasize: Most relatively simple estates (cash, publicly traded securities, small amounts of other, easily valued assets and no special deductions or elections or jointly held property) with a total value under $1,000,000 and a date of death in 2002 or 2003, under $1,500,000 and a date of death in 2004 or 2005, and under $2,000,000 and a date of death in 2006 or 2007 do not require the filing of an estate tax return.
