If we find Osama, the war on terror will be scaled down. No more money for Haliburton. That would be tragic.

First off, Saddam was not easy to find, but compared to Bin Laden it seems like a walk in the park, here is why:
Saddam did not have any support. His own people, including his family, did not like him. He was an evil tyrant who enslaved and murdered his own people. At every turn Iraqi citizens were pointing us in the right direction and helping us to stay fresh on his tracks. Finding someone in a country where noone likes that person and wants them to be captured is realtively easy compared to the next piece I am going to write.
Osama Bin Laden is hard hard hard to find. First off, he is most likely in Pakistan, the current haven for terrorists in this world. There are not many people who hate him as he has never caused people in that region personal harm. Many people in that region hate America and do not want us to capture Bin Laden, therefore the amount of intel and tips available is not even close to that during the hunt for Saddam. Secondly, we had occupied Iraq, which means we were free to go anywhere we pleased in the country and scower the whole terrain. We have no occupied Pakistan, we can't just send in a couple hundred thousand troops to scower the land until we find him, well we could, but I doubt you soft liberals would go for that. So all of these factors are why it is harder to find Bin Laden than it was to find Saddam.

That is a very good question. I don't know - except that maybe Saddam was pretty dumb and just made himself out to be a tough guy wheras Bin Laden is much more cunning, intelligent and well prepared.

They did. Osama is most likely dead and buried in Bora Bora. He has not sent out a message or tape containing current events in 2 years and the supposed #2 man is making all the statements. The message he sent today has no reference to anything in the past 2 years and is thought to be an old unreleased message.

Well it's like this.... The Bush administration needed a bogeyman that they could use as the focal point for it's laughable war OF terror.... now look at the doubling of the reward money as it gets nearer the elections.
It must have slipped by some that people who are prepared to give their lives up at the drop of a hat will not be swayed by $50m. No good to him when he has 72 virgins to look forward to. right?

it is mostly because of the terrain where he is assumed to be hiding and the people who are giving him shelter. in that region, you have to poor and uneducated who know nothing of the global situation and have an unerring devotion to him and believe that he is fighting the 'evil' Satan and he exploits this to his advantage.
