"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Aug. 5, 2004

It goes something like: "Politics is the art of receiving votes from the poor and money from the rich by promising to protect each group from the other."
I may not have the words exactly right but would like to know who made this great quote originally. I'm guessing it's late nineteenth or early 20th century.

Does anybody else watch talk shows such as Lars Larson, Bill O'Reilley, Michael Savage, etc. Aren't you enraged at what liberals have done to America? When do you think we can get rid of all these liberal fanatics who live in their own little fantasy world and make America what it used to be?

***and please, if you are a liberal, don't give any of the usual liberal cr@p***

I guess you would have to break that question down into two parts - 1. There were no rockets being fired from that village, and the village was randomly attacked. 2. There were rockets fired from that village, and the civilians were caught in the crossfire.
Let me provide my answer first:
1. The Israelis, and anyone for that matter, would be committing murder to target non-combatants. I think that point goes without saying.
2. If there were rockets being fired from that village, than they were justified in attacking those launchers. It is a lose lose scenario - if they attack, civilians will be killed, and those scenes will be played out in the media - a propaganda victory to the terrorists. If they don't attack - they sanction the use of civilians as shields, ensuring their continued use, and ensuring Israel will not be able to defend themselves. They have no choice but to defend themselves, and the blood of civilians is on Hezbollahs heads.
What do you think?

Lies, greed, abandoning New Orleans, warrantless spying, illegal invasions of innocent countries, torturing & indefinitely detaining innocent humans who haven't been convicted of anything, exposing undercover CIA operatives, supressing dissent while claiming to fight for democracy, ignoring extreme poverty around the world.....the list is endless!

Bush, Condi, Cheney & others are former heads of oil companies. We have nothing but greedy oil men & women steering our country into disaster.

WHY ARE WE SO COMPLACENT? The only way things will change is for everyone at the grassroots level to demand real leadership. Peace, justice, ending poverty, diplomacy, cooperation...why have we ignored these and who will stand with me in calling for change? The world is waiting on Americans to act.

This was in a newspaper relating to the approval of "Plan B" the morning after pill as an OTC (over the counter) drug. It said the drug could lead to more premarital sex among teens. But the drug also is what stops pregnancy from occurring. So why would this concern conservatives? Can you paint a broader political picture?

I don't think I understand why this would be bad for conservatives considering it would lessen the amount of teen pregnancies which cuts down on amount of children born into poverty, which in turn would be less mouths to feed and less money needed to be given to the poor through welfare? Or what do you think?

I'm not conservative or liberal so open to any opinions.

Thanks
