It goes something like: "Politics is the art of receiving votes from the poor and money from the rich by promising to protect each group from the other."
I may not have the words exactly right but would like to know who made this great quote originally. I'm guessing it's late nineteenth or early 20th century.

That would be the neo-Democrat socialist founder. You can add cigarettes to that quote now. Cigarettes buy votes for Democrats.
