I dont' know where you're getting your numbers. Here's just some numbers on the US ARMY...not including the marines, air force, national guard etc.

The United States Army is the largest branch of the United States armed forces and has primary responsibility for land-based military operations. As of fiscal year 2004 (FY04), it consisted of 485,500 soldiers (including 71,400 women) on active duty and 591,000 in reserve – 325,000 in the Army National Guard (ARNG) and 246,000 in the United States Army Reserve (USAR).

We have I believe about 130,000 troops in iraq. Not sure how many we have in afghanistan, but there's no way we have 90% deployed.

Its a very trickly question. interior the final Korean conflict China did despatched troops then the North Korean forces there pushed back to the Korean-chinese language Boarder. They did this with the aid of fact they actually did no longer decide for us of a forces on there doorstep. yet considering then the international has replaced. whether there's a ceasefire on the 2nd, which could be broken legally via the two area which will no longer ensue until something undesirable happens. The chinese language are extra of a political best chum than a defense force, if conflict did escape back they are extra probably to deliver defense force materials and help. If issues have been given to the factor to there america forces the place somewhat to close for convenience then would probably think of roughly that to do next. The anti-Korean sediment you communicate of in keeping with possibility with the aid of a back lash of the Olympic protests in South Korea, in maximum circumstances the South Korean protesters there no longer protesting approximately appropriate to the riots in Tibet yet appropriate to the undeniable fact that China has a habit of sending if North Korean reguees (sp) caught in China back homestead there they might probably be placed to death or put in labour camps. additionally ingredient is that countless the pro-China pupil protesters have been deported from South Korea with the aid of launching actual assaults against South Korea human beings. I even have seen video clips there a mob assaults a guy or woman in a hotel and yet another there an previous guy is attacked. besides the undeniable fact that the possibilities of the traditional guy or woman in China will no longer examine this style of stuff.

No to both. N Korea couldn't pull it off with their antiquated military. They might be able to do a good job of bombing Seoul, but they'd be quickly overwhelmed by the military response.

The China-Taiwan dispute is merely political and rhetorical--really quite ridiculous. An attack wouldn't be in China's best interests.

China will take care of North Korea simply because we will bomb N. Korea if they get too out of hand. China doesn't want that, and in turn will keep N. Korea in check.

Also, if China ever gets an urge to "attack" anyone, there wouldn't be much of fight. By sheer numbers ALONE, they could easily take whatever they set their minds to.

This is just sabre rattling. Poonang would never risk the loss of his reign. He's attempting to save face by blackmailing the US for aid. Instead of spending billions on weapons, he should develop an agricultural base and feed his people. Then, industrys to produce exportable products.
Seen from space, North Korea has only 2 lit areas. Sad to say his father's lust for power has left his domain 50 years behind the west. It just goes to show that dictators make lousy leaders.

The number of US troops in the ROK has remained the same since the conflict in Iraq began, and there never have been any US troops in the ROC.

Do you think US is policing the world?

S. Korea can look after itself, against N. Korea.

Why do you worry about others, when there are many things in you country itself, you have to worry; like war in Iraq, where many Americans are loosing their lives.
