So N Korea doesn't have much of a missile BUT they are far more "infiltrated" into the US and Canadian populace than Muslims ............so a suit case bomb or so here and there and yes suddenly it is an anilateing nuclear attack. Help from Iran help from the other Arabs (Iran) help from Chile help from Cuba help from Costa Rica help from every nation the US has invaded - not a big jump. The US has a lot of enemies and I mean a lot.

Maybe the missle thing isn't the problem at all -

Whatever happens to the US happens to Canada - more or less - and it's not out of the realm that we get a direct hit....or you do and we get the aftermath. Take out the great Lakes with a "dirty bomb" and no one has drinking water on the east side of the continent.

Below is a CBC story it sounds like the US is backing down to me maybe the threat is more real than we know? What do you think?
North Korea has threatened the United States with nuclear war if any pre-emptive military strikes are launched against the isolated communist country.
The communist party newspaper in Pyongyang said on Monday that Washington had been increasing military pressure against North Korea but the country was ready to defend itself.
The paper said the North Korean people and the military "are now in full preparedness to answer a pre-emptive attack with a relentless annihilating strike and nuclear war with a mighty nuclear deterrent."The White House spokesman, Tony Snow, described the threat as "deeply hypothetical."
In recent weeks, the United States has expressed concern that North Korea was preparing to test a long-range ballistic missile that could reach American territory.State media in North Korea often threaten powerful retaliation against attacking forces.

I just had to ask.

Do you think very many people would know how discuss issues in governance if they couldn't use those terms?

And what if they had to talk about the topics instead of each other?

What would happen if our politicians had to do the same?

We could get a lot more acomplished on a website like this one if everyone took off the blinders and acted a little more like adults. Instead this web forum is a screaming match most of the time. Just look at the good they did for the Tsunami victoms when they worked together as friends.

I'm a little scared to tell you all. I was sworn to secrecy by Michael Moore and Susan Sarandon at the last big "Let's Destroy America and Give it to Osama" rally.
The secret is..

Liberals don't care at all about your religion. In fact, we'd rather not hear about it at all.

Be a christian. Be a muslim. Be a jew.....whatever you want for yourself. Pray to a 50ft high jesus that spurts blood out of his hands and feet. Give all your money to televangelist so they can buy another Cadillac.

Liberals won't stop you.

When you start forcing all of us to participate, by drafting laws decreeing that students be cohersed to say a prayer before class, or that Federal tax dollars should go to glorify some deity on public buildings, or that the 10 commandments (that most christians can't name if you ask) be the basis of everyone's legal system, that's when you have a fight on your hands.

Liberals don't want to live in a theocracy. Neither did the founders of the country.

In my opinion, the democrats have ZERO ideas as to how to fix any of the current problems that face us today

Where do they stand on the war, immigrations, tax relief, healthcare, protection against terrorism, Iran, North Korea???

Now, would you vote Democratic BECAUSE of their ideas/agenda or because its just an ''Anti_Republican'' vote?

How do you justify your reasoning??

How many people are happy with either political party? Are they addressing your concerns? Do you think you have a real choice when you go to the polls?

We have a commitment to other people of the world to give them a life of freedom if we can, even if it takes such honrable sacrifice. Isn't it short-sighted to not value that, and provide to others the possibility of the type of life we enjoy in America?
Is it just popular to disagree with our leaders?
I believe if I were an Iraqi I would be deeply grateful for the changes that are happening there; that were only a dream 10 years ago. Especially for a better life for my children.

Okay, forget the fact that she's a woman - because I'm a feminist and want a female President as much as any one else. Also, forget she's a liberal democrat because I am too and believe we need a liberal to run office to keep the balance. The question is, based on her morals, leadership, and what she's done and hasn't done with New York state, would Hillary Rodham Clinton be a good (not satisfactory) President?

Why is it that no one but their opponents ever call politicians on lying. Shouldn't they get in trouble? i am from MT, and our senator is flat out lying in his ads. It's not as if it is a accident... it is an out and out provable lie. Yet people still believe he is honest. i don't get it. And on that subject why oh why do the politicians feel it more important to bash their opponent than to talk about what they themselves have done or will do? i am so sick and tired of politics and am totally disillusioned. Just want to see what others opinions are.

Will it be someone from the Bush camp? Or will it be a moderate like Giuliani?

I get the sense that a moderate will have difficulty in the primaries, but a conservative will have difficulty in the general election.

Try to keep it above-board and avoid insults.
