There is no "Natural" successor to Bush,
(he's actually NOT King George as
many would have you believe).
The Best Hope to pull this country back together would be someone like John Edwards or Russ Feingold. Someone who isn't all about "party politics" and would do what is best for the country not just themselves & their friends.

Replacement might be a better term than successor. Successor has the connotation that Bush hand-picked them.
The republicans have already started putting books out against Hillary Clinton's candidacy, so they have a lot of ammo. H. Clinton can probably raise more money than any other democratic candidate, but from a policy standpoint, I hope someone else wins the nomination.
I wish (the current) Gore or Dean would run again. No more spineless proper guys like Kerry to sit around and get pummeled.

There is no Natural successor
People will listen to all the candidates
And then the Liberals will vote for a wildly left wing Democrat Candidate
And the Republican Party will anoint a Fundamentalist that has the proper party connections
It is a stupid game that the public loses
I hope that the party system is abolished
and that Candidates can not take donations from anyone
The media can just give equal time and ads to all people running
I would like to see Jesse Ventura as President

If Hillary Clinton is in some strange surreal way...elected president...then she will be the first assasinated female president. Bush is a republican and Hillary is a democrat.

Hillary Clinton is the most obvious candidate and and more people know her than anyone else on the Democratic party but i fear that who ever wins it will have been a rigged election.
